We are fortunate enough to be stocking this beautiful book by Ivor Mackay, ‘Painting with the Light of the North. Volume One: Ness to Uig.’

The book is full of biographical content and anecdotes from Ivor’s life. He takes us on a journey through the villages of North Lewis, using his paintings as a guide, and giving an insight into his technique and the back story behind his art.

The Blythswood Shoe Box Appeal is traditionally a point in the calendar where many local schools and organisations put a great effort into creating gift-filled shoe boxes to be sent away as a Christmas gift.

Last year an amazing 1900 boxes were sent from our community to people in need. An amazing act of generosity. Kids especially seem to get so much out of creating their ‘own shoe box.’

The Appeal centre is due to open its drop off point at Lewis Builders, Rigs Road from 4pm on Thursday 30th October 🎁
