Last Wednesday, we were delighted to welcome Reverend John, who led a warm and meaningful Holy Communion service for our residents. The Reverend was joined by his friend Pauline from St. Mary’s, whose presence added to the sense of community and togetherness.

A heartfelt thank you to both Reverend John and Pauline for taking the time to visit us and support our home. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon 💛

After framing some old homemade artwork, we decided to make some more this week! Who better to help than the craft group in Ibstock! Pat, Una, Margaret, Muriel and Josie all worked super hard. Later they were joined by Angela, who wasn’t sure if this kind of activity was for her. Whilst the ladies were busy getting creative, Frank spent some time working with an agency carer. Big thanks to Mark for hanging the groups joint effort on the wall. 🎨✨

Saturday afternoon in Ibstock was all about fun and games! Angela discovered a real talent for magnetic chess and enjoyed a friendly match with Una, cheered on by Josie. Residents also took part in a memory game… once Di remembered where she’d put the cards! ♟️🃏

Residents in Hagley enjoyed a creative Saturday morning trying their hand at Aqua painting 🎨 Barbara, June, Sue and Ginny took great delight in discovering the pictures as they appeared, while Pam enjoyed experimenting with different colours and shapes. There was plenty of excitement as, with a little help from our staff team, everyone’s finished artwork was revealed 🖼️

While most residents were keen to join in, Michael chose a quieter activity, enjoying a jigsaw at his own pace 🧩 A special thank you to Pauline, who, despite feeling a little sleepy, kindly helped Di tidy up at the end - a lovely team effort all round!

The Easter Bank Holiday was a busy but wonderful day for our residents 🐣🐰💛

The morning began with a lovely craft session in Ibstock, where residents created Easter-themed bookmarks. Rex and Josie enjoyed a little support from staff, while Pat was joined by a friend who was more than happy to get involved alongside Una and Muriel. Angela arrived a little later but, as always, was eager to join in the fun. Once finished, the bookmarks were laminated to keep them looking their best - a creative and enjoyable start to the day!

After lunch, everyone came together for a fun Easter-themed exercise class with Mary — filled with plenty of singing, laughter, and joy! In Hagley, those who preferred a quieter afternoon enjoyed a relaxing sing-along jigsaw session.

As the day drew to a close, it was time to reveal the winners of our Easter raffle!

1st Prize… Lucy (senior carer)
2nd Prize… Mel (senior carer)
3rd Prize… Judith (Mrs Fletcher’s daughter)
4th Prize… Mark (maintenance.. who found time to come collect his prize which was a handmade coffee and walnut cake made by our wonderful cook)
