😂 what massage therapy concept do you find the hardest to explain to your clients?

This is a question I get asked by therapists, clients, medical professionals, and even those who are well-versed in the benefits of soft tissue therapy. In my experience, what makes it different from other types of massage is the disease and the client’s state of health.

Oncology massage is neither light, fluffy, nor insubstantial, it addresses the needs of the client and how the tissue responds.

The most descriptive word I use when teaching this method is to melt, feel what is happening underneath your hands, to be led by the tissue, not force your way through in an unthinking manner, but to ‘melt’ into the soft tissue with a considered touch.

I'm going on tour!

I'll be taking my oncology massage practical workshops across various locations in the UK and Ireland, including: Holistic College Dublin, Cheltenham School of Complementary Therapy & Beauty, JING in Brighton, Leonardo Hotels in Edinburgh, Curl Aberdeen and of course, North London School of Sports Massage!

I love traveling and I always take time to visit where ever I rest my head, so your suggestions are always welcome.

Join me for three days of face-to-face workshops, lectures, and building your hands-on skills. The aim is to build your confidence so that you can meet your client's needs at any stage of health.

The following can also be expected:

➡️ Day one – Understand how to modify your manual therapy skills, and learn about the mindful touch which enables you to achieve the appropriate depth that is both satisfying and beneficial to your client.

➡️ Day two – I will introduce more advanced soft tissue skills, rehabilitation, and homecare (the kind that clients love to do)

➡️ Day three – Learn about the importance of nutrition, exercise, and mental well-being and how to integrate them into your sessions.

If you can’t attend in person but want to expand your knowledge and take the first step in providing this essential service, the workshop will also be hosted online!
