Imbolc is the midpoint between Winter and Spring. The days begin to lengthen, the snowdrops start to bloom and the crocus and daffodils are beginning to shoot through the dirt - the signs of new life are starting to appear everywhere.
Imbolc is a time of turning outward again and the return to the light.
The Goddess on this painting is Brigit who is associated with the first stirrings of Spring. She is a Goddess of healers, poets, smiths, childbirth, inspiration and fire.
