📣 We need your help! 📣
Residents are working on some craft projects and are looking for empty plastic bottles of any size. If you have any you can spare, please drop them in to us — we’d be glad to take them off your hands!

In addition, our Knit and Natter group are busy knitting and crocheting poppies to be made into badges and sold in support of this year’s Poppy Appeal. If you’d like to get involved, you’re welcome to join the group in-house to knit and crochet, or simply drop off any poppies you’ve made.

We hope you can help — and if not, please share this post far and wide!

We start every Monday relaxed and calm with our weekly Yoga session

Held in the calming quiet environment of our Poppy Lounge residents receive guidance through their practice by Kat working head to toe to build strength, increase flexibility, reduce strength and anxieties and gives resident a chance to relax before the start of another busy week

Ending with calming breathing exercises, meditation and the sounds of the singing bowl, this is quickly becoming one of the highlights on our weekly calendar

We’ve had another fabulous weekly harvest from our garden this week.

Courgettes, spinach, red peppers and cherry tomatoes all grown by our very own gardening club and then used by head chef Jane in our menu

We can’t wait to see what they harvest next

This morning we had a slightly slower pace with our Reminisce and Remember session

We were sent a hamper filled with replica items, photos and information from M&S Archive to look through

Residents spent the morning looking at all the items, sharing their thoughts and stories of their own shopping habits and food preferences

Thank you Marks and Spencer for sharing your archives with us

It’s always a magical afternoon when Samantha Oxborough Mezzo-Soprano comes to sing for us.

Residents were enchanted by her voice from the first note and we can’t wait for another concert

Here are just a few of the photos from our concert and Happy Hour

Today’s Veterans Coffee Morning was a busy one, buzzing with energy. Residents and community members came together for great conversations, plenty of laughter, and more than a few of our famous homemade Eccles cakes.

Save the date: our next Veterans Coffee Morning will be on Tuesday 9th September, 10:30am – 12:30pm. We’d love to see you there!

At Parkfield Grange we encourage residents to not only pursue new hobbies but also to continue old ones and will help them to adapt them if needed.

Mrs C, once an avid painter, picked up her brush again to create some lovely watercolours in this weeks art group.

Even more exciting, she’s planning to share her skills with us by helping our Wellbeing team lead a session of painting alongside Mr S who is also a talented artist 🎨

We can’t wait to learn from their talent and passion and create some artistic masterpieces.

Residents look forward to their weekly Scrabble game - full of laughter, friendly competition, and plenty of brain-boosting fun.

We have a challenge in place to come up with the most obscure word of the week. This week’s word was Knavish meaning tricky or dishonest.

Our creative arts group had a slightly different session this week

Rather than becoming the artists themselves we had an art themed quiz and discussion on some famous paintings

Everyone had the chance to share their interpretation of the paintings, what they think the artist was trying to portray and then looked at some reviews online of other people’s interpretations and thoughts

We are so lucky that we have a dedicated activities space within the home. Our third floor is home to our activity room filled with items used by our wellbeing team in their day to day activities

Residents can also make their way to the activity room and help themselves to puzzles, games and arts and craft supplies at their own leisure

Mr S and Mrs G really enjoy an hour in here after lunch painting or colouring and enjoying a good chat

A huge congratulations to all the young people who collected their GCSE results today - what an achievement! 👏

We’re especially proud of our very own superstar volunteer, Lacey. She picked up her results this morning, passed all the exams needed for her chosen college course, and then came straight here to share her good news with us and spend time with our residents.

Well done, Lacey - we’re so proud of you! Your hard work, kindness, and commitment truly inspires us all!
