We’ve been keeping warm this weekend with a relaxed game of UNO in the lounge with our young volunteer Isla.

Residents are enjoying learning a new game and becoming very competitive throughout the game

We had something a bit different yesterday with a special presentation from BKS Astronomy

Richard shared a presentation filled with pictures he had taken of deep space and residents really enjoyed listening to the informative session and looking at the selection of images

Today is World Kindness Day so we’ve been spreading kindness around the home and to our visitors

Residents have each received a ‘Positive Panda’ or similar knitted teddy with a positive message to keep them smiling.
Staff have been gifted an appreciation pen and keyring to thank them for all their hard work.
Visitors to the home this week have been receiving a pocket hug with a small message to spread happiness and joy.

We all need a reason to smile and these have certainly raised some smiles and giggles this week

Today’s Veterans Coffee Morning was a little different, and extra special, as it coincided with Remembrance Day. We were delighted to welcome members of the Stourbridge British Legion, residents, and friends from the local community to join us in marking this important occasion.

Everyone enjoyed some lovely musical entertainment from Allie Meek, along with a tempting selection of sweet and savoury treats.

A real highlight of the morning was a visit from eight cadets from Old Swinford Hospital School, who spent time chatting with residents and guests. Their warmth and enthusiasm brought so many smiles and made the event truly memorable.

It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to come together, share stories, and remember.

We’ve spent the afternoon in the cinema watching the Festival of Remembrance

Residents found the stories and music moving and joyful and afterwards enjoyed a reminiscence session sharing stories of our remembrance the importance of remembering those who gave ‘their today for our tomorrow’

Don’t forget we will be having a very special remembrance event tomorrow. Members of the Royal British Legion will be joining us for some music and memories and everyone is welcome to join us from 11.30

We’re so proud of our incredible staff from all departments (the 3 in the picture and more) who have received certificates for a recent Advanced First Aid course they completed

Their commitment along with company provided training courses ensures our residents are always in the safest, most capable hands and receive the appropriate care and support

We were delighted to welcome back the Stourbridge Military Vehicle Parade this morning! Three fantastic vehicles stopped by our car park, and our residents loved chatting with the owners and getting a closer look.

We were also joined by the lovely children from Rednal Hill Infants School, who helped us paint the poppies during our visit to them last month, for our Cascading Poppies of Parkfield Grange display. They enjoyed seeing their handiwork and the vehicles before we all headed inside for a well-earned drink and some cake while the rain passed!

Using glitter, paint and colourful beads we created a display of colourful fireworks over a silhouette of the Stourbridge skyline
