Highlight of our week was the Hormone Harmony by Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine Therapist Jessica Chambers. Jessica shared many tips and words of wisdom and there was also space for questions and a sharing of experiences connected to Menopause.

There was a wealth of advice on what is supportive rather than a list of things to avoid. Tips on lifestyle (including the benefits of resistance training), sleep (we need a lot!) and the importance of stress reduction for health and wellbeing.

In early 2000, Marianne Altmaier (former leader of Therapeutic Arts for the Medical Section of the Anthroposphical Society) realised that colours arising from metals in the glassmaking process could become a new form of therapy.

Metal Colour Light therapy arises when one experiences the healing qualities of the metals when sunlight passes through a panel of coloured, engraved glass.

“The metals are the most spiritual part of external nature which the human being can encounter” Marianne Altmaier

Since then, this therapy has developed and is now practiced in clinics, hospitals, private practice and curative institutions around the world.

Jessica Chambers – Nutritional Therapist and Health Coach

One of our newer Practitioners, Jessica Chambers, specialises in nutrition and lifestyle medicine, using health coaching to encourage the adoption of new eating and lifestyle habits.

“I support people struggling to get on top of their health issues and in particular those experiencing problems around digestion and gut health, tiredness and fatigue, skin health, women’s health, diabetes, healthy eating and weight loss”, she explains.

Jessica is a member of the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine and registered with the Complimentary and Healthcare Council. With an MSc in Nutritional Therapy, a Level 6 diploma in Nutrition and Health and a Health Transformation Coaching Certificate from the Association for Coaching, she is well qualified to offer expert support.

Jessica’s path to this work stemmed from her own struggles with energy and blood sugar levels. The discovery of nutrition and lifestyle medicine allowed her to win back both her vitality and productivity, which drove her want to support others to prioritise and optimise their health and well-being.

A Time to Connect and Reflect

On Saturday 28th June, our team of staff and practitioners gathered at Elysia Therapy Centre for a morning of meaningful conversation and shared insight. Together, we explored aspects of the Centre’s day-to-day life and gently opened space for fresh ideas and collaborative reflection.

After our meeting, we moved into the garden to enjoy strawberries and cream under the summer sky - a simple, joyful moment of connection. It was a heartwarming opportunity to welcome and spend time with our newer members and to deepen the sense of community that supports all we do at Elysia.
