Astley is a warm and vibrant home in a spectacular setting, with far reaching views from the gardens, lounges and many bedrooms. Our dedicated team have many years of professional experience between them and provide dementia and nursing care. We are delighted to have been awarded the Worcestershire dementia standard. Person centred care and the happiness and welbeing of our residents is central to

our care ethos. There is a full time activities programme ranging from spa treatments, crafting sessions, gardening, live music and entertainers and day visits. We also have a new beautiful serenity garden, accessible to all residents for gardening or quite enjoyment.

An English themed lunch for St George's day. There's nothing like good old fish and chips and hearty ploughman's lunch. Followed by a traditional strawberry Victoria sponge. It was enjoyed by all. Some of the residents even said "The fish and chips was nicer than the chip shop" a great complement for our brilliant chef.

Today is and we've launched this year's gardening club. We've had 2 brilliant volunteers from AKW which helped us get all the hanging baskets planted for the back garden and pots planted, the sunflowers planted and we've weeded all the flower beds and have got them ready to plant. Everyone said what a great day they've had.

Chris is a very keen birdbwatcher so he likes to make sure all the Bird feeders are topped up regularly and often asks to go outside to listen to all the different kind of birds we have in the garden here at Astley. We've learnt alot about the birds since Chris has been here and its so lovely to see him so passionate about them.

This afternoon we've had a great visit from Monty and marmalade from Alnewood therapy ponies. Monty assisted his owner Sally to do some Art therapy with some of the residents and marmalade went round and paid other residents a visit.
Chris said "It was a great afternoon seeing the ponies and he really enjoyed himself"
