August turned out to be a very busy month for the team, they were called out at least once a day, some days more.
It was a mix of beach and Broads incidents with broken legs, ankles, head injuries, swimmers in difficulties, an allergic reaction, missing persons and quite a lot of paddle boarders getting swept out to sea with offshore winds.
The team even managed to meet up with the Fire Service, Mundesley Lifeboat, Mundesley Coast Watch and RNLI Lifeguards for a sandhole exercise.
As the summer holidays come to an end life guarded beaches will have less patrols so please take care.
If you do come across danger on the coast or the Broads please call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

For those going to the beach this summer.

Reminder:

This is really simple. You can spot a rip current. Unfortunately, it's where it looks easiest and safest to enter the sea. This is because the rip current is looping around and pulling back OUT. Hence no waves rolling IN. NEVER ENTER THE SEA HERE. If you are already in the sea and get caught in a rip current (you'll know because you will suddenly be moved from your location and it will be impossible to swim against it) don't panic. Swim ACROSS, not against the rip current. For example, rather than trying to swim to shore while being pushed out, swim parallel to the beach and you will be able to get out. Then you can swim ashore. Please educate friends or family visiting the beaches this summer. Stay safe and go to lifeguarded beaches — but if you do see anyone in danger call 999 and ask for the Coastguard

As we wave goodbye to a wet July we look back at a month that had a mix of beach and broads incidents, these included vessels aground, objects in the water, missing people, head injuries, broken bones, person unconscious, plus others.
We also managed to keep up with our weekly training and attended a PR event.
As the school holidays are now upon us please stay safe but if you do need help on the beach or broads please call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

As we start a new month we look back at a very busy May.
The Bacton team have been tasked with lots of different incidents on the coast and the broads, these include broken bones, missing people, people having convulsions and a cliff incident.
The team also managed to fit some training in with a Search Tec Leader course, CERCC course and Rope Rescue practice.
The Bacton team have welcomed two new members who have just completed their training and three others are in the final stages of training in preparation for the summer season.
As the weather hopefully gets better, please enjoy our beautiful beaches and the wonderful broads but if you do see danger or come across someone in need of help, please call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

March turned out to be quite busy for the Bacton team. The deer video we posted has been viewed 20 million times.
We attended a large exercise on Wroxham Broad with the Police, Broads Authority, Hemsby Broads Rescue and other Coastguard teams.
The team also received various 999 call outs throughout the month including a suspected heart attack, a search, cries for help on the beach and erosion of cliffs.
As the weather gets better and we have the lighter evenings, we will be out training around the area.

Please stay safe but if you do see danger on the coast or the Norfolk Broads please call 999 and ask for the Coastguard .

Even though the clocks change tonight, our safety advice stays the same - please remember to be if you’re going to the coast.

Many of us will be enjoying longer days, but the sea temperature is shockingly cold 🥶

If you accidentally end up in the water, remember to fight the instinct to panic and don’t try to swim against the tide. Stick your hand in the air, shout for help and 🌊

Be prepared:
