Saturday 25th October,
Important update from Andrew Bingham
As you maybe aware on the evening of Saturday 27th September our beloved premises, The Nutshell, Milton Road South, Stowmarket was sadly catastrophically damaged by fire, leaving them uninhabitable and in all probabilities having to be demolished and rebuilt.
We already had workshop and garage facilities at no 1 Charles Industrial Estate, Stowmarket and we were offered the adjoining empty no2 that evening, by the incredible Porch family to enable us to continue whilst The Nutshell is rebuilt. The Porch team set to work the very next day fitting out offices, arrangement rooms and chapel and by the end of next week we will have a fully functioning funeral directors in Our new temporary location. There are so many people I will be eternally indebted and grateful to, for their generosity and help during this incredibly difficult period, none more so than the wonderful bereaved families who have been so understanding over this difficult period, the local community and businesses, other funeral directors in particular Armstrong’s of Bury st Edmunds, Susan Whymark of Eye and other funeral directors with offers of help.
I am incredibly proud of every member of our team who have worked tirelessly under extreme circumstances, continuing to go above and beyond whilst working in borrowed suits, equipment etc, and still managing to maintain the level of service we are so proud of, all whilst I am sat at home not being able to do much, (feeling very frustrated) whilst recovering from open heart surgery which took place 3 days prior to the fire. One final thank you to my amazing wife Heidi who has been pulled in every direction being a wife, mother, business owner, funeral arranger, carer etc.
THANK YOU
