Dementia action week 💜

What a fantastic time we had at the Dementia Friendly Singalong at the Rampant Horse to mark Dementia Action Week.

The room was filled with music, laughter, singing, and a wonderful community spirit. It was so special to see people coming together, sharing memories, supporting one another, and simply enjoying the atmosphere.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped raise awareness and support for those living with dementia and their families. Moments like these truly show the power of community and connection. 💜💜💜💜💜

A huge well done to Leeanna, our Day Club Manager, and Suzzi for taking on the 6-mile Midnight Walk in support of St Elizabeth Hospice 🌙💜

Joining forces with their sister Joe-Ann, alongside staff members and customers from Sapphire Tanning & Beauty the group of 12 incredible walkers raised an amazing £1,753.04 for such a wonderful cause 👏

We would also like to give a special mention to Mark from our care team, who completed a 12-hour shift and then volunteered his own time as a back walker, helping to ensure everyone taking part reached the finish safely. What an incredible act of kindness and dedication 💜

We truly do have the most amazing staff members, supporters, and selfless individuals here at Cedrus.
We are extremely proud of every single one of you.

What a wonderful time we had celebrating the Eurovision Song Contest with so many other Care UK homes! A huge thank you to our wonderful hosts at Mills Meadow for once again making us feel so welcome and providing such delicious food.

We spent the day laughing, singing, and dancing to hits from the 70s — and we were thrilled to come 3rd place for our amazing outfits 🤣✨

🎉 We absolutely smashed it! 🎉

A massive thank you to everyone who supported Claire the Home Manager, Leeanna the Day Club Manager, Ian the Chef, Becca the Carer, and Bee Lifestyle Coordinator and some friends as they took on the Nuclear Rush Race to fundraise for the Stowmarket & District Dementia Community Group, part of Red Gables 💜

Despite the cold, we tackled the Nuclear Essex “Rush 6K” — over 40 obstacles across a muddy 6km dash — and enjoyed almost every second of it! 😅

There may be a few bruises, we’re still finding mud in places we didn’t know existed, and the smell of the pond is definitely lingering… but it was all worth it because together we’ve raised an amazing £410 for this fantastic cause!
