Koram Centre - Bereaved by Su***de Support Group

Losing a loved one by su***de can be a very painful experience. The feelings of loss, sadness and loneliness usually experienced after any death of a loved one are often magnified in those bereaved by su***de by feelings of guilt, confusion, rejection, shame, anger, and the effects of stigma and trauma.

Here at the Koram Centre we are continuing to offer support to those bereaved by su***de through our monthly facilitated support group.
This group will bring together those with similar experiences to offer support to each other, fostering hope and healing.

Programme Details:
Date: Thursday 4th September
Time: 6.30pm - 8.00pm
Location: Training Room, Koram Centre

Open Minds Youth Wellbeing Event - 16th September 2025 - Mevlin Sports Complex

As part of the work the Rory Carlin Memorial Fund Project, the Koram Centre in partnership with Strabane & District Caring Services/Neighbourhood Health Improvement Project have organised a wellbeing event for young people (16+) in Strabane.

The purpose of the event is to increase young people’s awareness of mental health and emotional wellbeing support services available to them and to also reduce stigma around mental health and asking for help.

Young people will have the opportunity to:

Find out about services which can support their mental health and emotional wellbeing.
Partake in a range of activities which can help improve and maintain good emotional health and wellbeing.
Avail of complementary therapies (e.g. mini head massage, hand massage).
Have some fun.

This event will be informative and interactive. We want to create a positive experience for these young people, so if there ever comes a time when they are struggling or need someone to talk to, they will remember the people or services at the event.

The morning session of the event is open to local schools which have been invited. The afternoon session (1.30-3.30pm) is an open session for any young person aged 16+

We look forward to seeing your there. If you would like any further information please contact the Koram Centre on 02871 886181.
