๐ŸŒผ Planting Conversations Across Wigtownshire ๐ŸŒผ

In 2022, a child at Park School Nursery suggested planting a flower as part of their home learning. The staff worked diligently to make this happen for all the children โ€” and from that simple idea, something really special began.

Since then, Wigtownshire Wellbeing and Cancer (WWAC) has proudly supported this initiative by donating everything needed for nurseries to plant daffodils. These bright yellow flowers not only bring a splash of colour, but also help gently open up conversations about cancer with children, parents, carers and staff.

Last year, we were delighted to support six more nurseries, reaching 284 families across Wigtownshire ๐Ÿ’›

We are thrilled to say that this offer is now open again. WWAC would love to support another six nurseries this year.

If your nursery would like to take part, please get in touch โ€” we would be delighted to hear from you. ๐ŸŒผ

๐Ÿ’™ Weโ€™re taking on the Kiltwalk Mighty Stride โ€“ and you can make your donation go even further! ๐Ÿ’™

Team Smiles for Smiles (50 amazing walkers!) will be stepping out in Glasgow to raise vital funds for Wigtownshire Wellbeing & Cancer (WWAC). Every step we take is for those in our community affected by cancer.

Weโ€™re delighted to share that WWAC is now part of Gift Aid ๐ŸŽ‰
That means for every ยฃ1 you donate, we receive an extra 25p at no extra cost to you โ€“ making your support go even further.

If youโ€™re able to donate or share our link, weโ€™d be so grateful. Thank you for supporting us, and for helping us continue to provide care, comfort and smiles when theyโ€™re needed most ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ’›๐ŸŒ World Cancer Day ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’›

Today we stand with everyone affected by cancer โ€“ those living with it, those supporting a loved one, and those we remember.

At Wigtownshire Wellbeing and Cancer, we see every day the strength, kindness and resilience within our community. No one should have to face cancer alone, and today is a reminder that together, we are stronger.

Whether itโ€™s through support, friendship, a listening ear, or simply a safe place to be, we are here โ€“ today and every day.

Letโ€™s continue to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and support one another in whatever way we can. ๐Ÿ’›

Today we had a truly wonderful experience at Trump Turnberry Spa as part of Wigtownshire Wellbeing and Cancer.
The ishga Nurturing Touch treatment was fantastic โ€“ deeply relaxing, calming and incredibly nurturing. It was a very special experience and one we would absolutely love to enjoy again in the future.

Weโ€™d like to extend our sincere thanks to the isgha team for inviting us along and for their kindness, care and professionalism throughout the day. Experiences like this make such a meaningful difference to wellbeing, and weโ€™re incredibly grateful to have been part of it. ๐Ÿค
