Test, Don't guess! This is what I have been taught.
Your nutrition directly determines how well you age.
During pregnancy, doctors put us on folic acid, zinc and iron supplements to avoid birth defects in the newborn. This shows how impactful mineral deficiencies can be.
Thus getting appropriate amounts of micronutrients like minerals can avoid the decline in health overall.
And when we talk about nutrition, the first thing that comes to our head is macronutrients- All carbohydrates, Protein and Fats.
But what essentially gets ignored is the micronutrients only because they are needed by the body at micro levels, but micronutrients have a macro impact on your health right from regulating your heartbeat, your metabolism, your thyroid, and your weight, to synthesising ATP, protein and your DNA even.
In my practice as a fatloss coach, I have not met a single woman who is deficient in Macronutrients, but we are all deficient in micronutrients particularly essential minerals.
Minerals in balance can work wonders but the same minerals when they are out of balance due to wrong supplementation can throw us off the health, like for an example people eating too much seafood or dental fillings can have high Mercury levels and without knowing if you are taking a supplement that contains hidden Mercury, then you are mega dosing yourself with heavy metal toxicity.
Similarly, people taking high doses of vitamin D3 can elevate Calcium levels in the body, which can further elevate Magnesium levels( see the image attached)
High levels of Uranium (see the image attached) coming from the water can cause high inflammation in your body providing a thriving environment for disease.
So folks, don't guess, get your minerals checked before buying that next supplement.
