Congratulations to our very own Martine Barons, on her recent success in the 2025 World Powerlifting Championships, in Idaho Falls, USA!

Martine achieved not one, not two, but THREE new world records in her category! She added 2.5kg to the bench press, 7.5kg to the deadlift and 10kg to the squat world records 🏅🏅🏅

Added to this is the fact that Martine also successfully defended her European Powerlifting title in Poland, just 12 weeks ago💪🏼

Everyone at Puregym Stratford-upon-Avon would like to say a huge well done to Martine on all of her achievements this year, keep smashing it Martine! ⭐

When having a cardiac arrest, every second counts.

Give this mouth-watering Thai red curry recipe a try! 🤤 It's packed with 46g of protein per serving, plus it's quick, easy and tastes amazing.

To make, you'll need:
- 500g chicken breast, diced
- 400ml light coconut milk
- 2 bags microwavable jasmine / Thai rice
- 1 Tbsp Thai Red Curry Paste (see below)
- 1/2 tbsp coconut oil
- Handful baby corn
- Handful mange tout
- 1 spring onion
- Handful of coriander

For the Thai red curry paste:
- 2 red chillies
- 2 tsp coriander seeds
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 3 garlic cloves
- A big handful of coriander (stalks removed)
- 3cm cube ginger
- 2 shallots
- 3 garlic cloves
- Grated zest and juice of a lime
- 1 tbsp hot paprika
- 1/2 tbsp coconut oil

- Start by making your Thai red curry paste! Blend together all of the ingredients until they form a vibrant red paste, this will smell amazing! You can store this paste for up to two months if you have any leftover.
- Heat a large, deep pan with ½ tbsp coconut oil and add in your diced chicken breast, stir until browned.
- Add 1tbsp of your paste into the pan and keep stirring to let all the fragrances cook out.
- Then add your coconut milk and bring to a simmer for 8 - 10 minutes.
- Drop in your veggies and let them cook for a further 3 - 5 minutes. You want them to be cooked through but still vibrant in colour.
- Serve with your rice of choice and top with some sliced spring onions and fresh coriander!

We're proud to be the official gym partner for the British Heart Foundation! ❤ It's estimated 1 in 2 of us will have a heart or circulatory disease in our lifetime.

Through our partnership, we are collaborating on a number of projects that will help make a genuine difference to the health of the nation, both today and in the future.

One way we do this is with our coffee mornings, where you can pop in for a chat and a hot drink (and a snack😋) and get your blood pressure tested at the same time!

Keep an eye out for our next one and come in for a cuppa!

World Mental Health Day is celebrated every year on the 10th October.

Poor mental health is not inevitable, and World Mental Health Day is an opportunity for us all to talk about mental health and consider how, together, we can help everyone have better mental health.

Whether its meeting up with a mate for a coffee, going on a walk to clear your head, or simply sending a text to check in with somebody, lets all try and do our bit to boost ourselves and the people around us!

Exercise is a fantastic way to help not only your physical, but also your mental health. Our gym and all of the classes we provide, are a great way to get that serotonin boost!

And remember, you are not alone - if you need to talk, there is always someone that will listen❤️

TW: cardiac arrest

One year ago, Tamworth gym manager Andy was saved by CPR when he suffered a cardiac arrest in-gym.

And because he lived, he was able to save PureGym member Andrew by administering CPR when he too had a cardiac arrest during a Cycle class.

This , we're shining a light on this incredible story and spreading awareness of the importance of learning life-saving CPR.

You can learn CPR in just 15 minutes using the British Heart Foundation's online tool - RevivR.

The perfect healthy treat which requires no cooking 🤩 Check out these DELICIOUS cocoa almond butter energy balls!

To make, you'll need:
- 175g dates
- 4 tbsp almond butter
- 40g dark chocolate
- 60g oats
- 1 scooop vanilla protein powder

- Pulse the dates in a food processor until they are chopped into small pieces.
- Add the dark chocolate, oats, protein powder and almond butter and pulse again with a little bit of water, until well combined.
- Use your hands to shape the mixture into small balls (the mixture should make approx 14 energy balls!)
- Pop them in the fridge to set for 15 mins and enjoy!
