Yesterday we welcomed the children from Dunnington C of E Primary School into the home to take part in some Easter crafts with the residents.

It was a lovely afternoon and the children painted eggs and made Easter baskets and cards for the residents to keep .

The residents really enjoyed seeing the children and are looking forward to seeing them again soon

Dementia Drop in Friday 27th March 9am - 5pm
"Staying Connected" 2:00pm - 4pm Join us as we explore how to communicate more effectively with people living with dementia.
Learn simple, practical ways to stay connected - helping to build understanding, ease frustration, and create more meaningful moments in everyday life.

Meet other members of your local community and make new friends over a cuppa and cake. Our Dementia Coach and Armed Forces Champions will be on hand to answer any questions you may have. Feel free to also have a tour of our beautiful home.

Care UK have launched a new guide book called “Staying Connected” A guide to dementia-friendly conversations. It is hugely insightful and could well make a difference if you care for a loved one or spend time with a loved one living with Dementia. Please do pop in and pick up a complementary guide book.

Cinema Matinee Club. Friday 20th March from 2:30pm

Residents of Ambleside Care Home would like to invite you to come and join them in our Cinema club, you bring yourselves and we will provide the refreshments.

This weeks showing will be Journey's End, Set in a dugout in Aisne in 1918, it is the story of a group of British officers, led by mentally-disintegrating young Officer Stanhope, as they await their fate.

A couple of weeks ago we celebrated World Book Day in style! We transformed our cinema room into a cosy reading nook and were joined by Precious Little Smiles Day Nursery for the perfect morning of reading with residents and sharing everyone's favourite books.
