🖼️🎨🛋️ A huge thank you to everyone who came to our "Art & Home" event last Saturday at our Furniture & Homeware Store! 🙏

There was a lovely atmosphere with lots of new faces in store. We were delighted with the support from all of the artists and the incoming mayor of Stratford-upon-Avon - and even better - we raised £1,800 for the Hospice! 💜

We look forward to hosting this event again soon!

Calling all theatre lovers and history buffs! 🎭

We have something truly special to share with you for this Saturday’s Art & Home event at our Furniture & Homeware Store. We are honoured to have received a remarkable donation from the personal archive of the late, great Clifford Rose — founding member of the Royal Shakespeare Company and a titan of British stage and screen.

These unique pieces offer a rare glimpse into the golden age of classical theatre:

🎭 Original Costume Sketches: Hand-drawn designs for the BBC’s Play of the Month by legendary designers like Raymond Hughes and Peter Rice. One even includes an original fabric swatch from 1977!

💫 The "Who’s Who" Othello Print: A beautiful historical engraving presented to Clifford, signed by a constellation of stars including Simon Russell Beale, Indira Varma, Claire Skinner, Frances de la Tour, and Sir Trevor Nunn.

🖼️ A Masterful Portrait: A striking pastel of Clifford as Don Luis in the RSC’s The Painter of Dishonour (1995).

These incredible items will be auctioned off this Saturday to raise vital funds for The Shakespeare Hospice. Whether you’re a collector or simply want to own a piece of Stratford’s rich theatrical legacy, don't miss out.

📅 When: Saturday, 21st March | 9:30am – 4:30pm
📍 Where: The Shakespeare Hospice Furniture & Homeware Store (CV37 0HR)

Come for the art, stay for the furniture, and help us support local hospice care. See you there! 💜

We’re pleased to share a thoughtful community event taking place at The Crown Tiddington, on Wednesday 18 March, offering practical guidance and open conversation around end‑of‑life planning.

This relaxed afternoon brings together a range of organisations and specialists, including funeral directors, celebrants, natural burial representatives and legal advisors.

The Shakespeare Hospice will also be there to chat about the support we offer.
Everyone is welcome to attend. 💜

Please feel free to share with anyone who may benefit.

What a fantastic festive effort from everyone at Stratford Leisure Centre! 🎄✨

Each year, the brilliant fitness team dress up in wonderfully festive outfits during their December classes, creating a fantastic atmosphere for everyone taking part.

This year, their efforts raised an incredible £2,000 for The Shakespeare Hospice. We are so grateful for their continued support and the joy they bring to this annual event.

A huge thank‑you to everyone involved — and a special thank‑you to Mel Ashworth for organising another fantastic year of fundraising. 💜✨

🌸 This Mother’s Day, we remember with love. 🌸

At The Shakespeare Hospice, we know that today can hold many emotions: gratitude, joy, longing, and deep remembrance. Whether you are celebrating, missing, or honouring a mother figure in your life, you are not alone. 💜

Mothers, grandmothers, daughters, and those who loved us with a mothers heart leave footprints that never fade. Their kindness, their stories, and their strength continue to shape who we are.

This Mother’s Day, we warmly invite you to celebrate their memory through our Memory Wall, a peaceful online space where you can leave a tribute, share a message, or post a cherished photo in honour of someone special.

At The Shakespeare Hospice, we are incredibly proud to see Mel and Deborah’s story shared in this BBC‑featured article. Their journey through breast cancer treatment shows the true heart of hospice care — a place of friendship, support, and living well, whatever the circumstances.

Their experience reminds us why our work matters and why gifts in Wills are so vital to securing the future of hospice services for our community. Legacy gifts help us ensure that people like Mel and Deborah can continue to receive the holistic, life‑enhancing support they described — today, tomorrow, and for years to come.

💜 If their story resonates with you, please consider leaving us a gift in your Will:
