🎉 I’m absolutely buzzing to share that I’ve secured a charity place for next year’s London Marathon and I’ll be proudly running for PDSA, an incredible animal charity that provides vital vet care for pets in need. 🐾🏃‍♂️

This isn’t just about the miles though—it’s about mindset too. Training for something like this gives you a real focus, a clear goal to work towards, and that can make a huge difference to your mental health. Physical exercise like running has been proven time and time again to boost mood, reduce anxiety, and build resilience.

It’s also a brilliant example of what I see every day in solution focused therapy—when we set our sights on where we want to go (instead of where we’ve been stuck), amazing things start to happen. One small step, one small win, one small mile at a time. 🏅

I’ll be sharing my journey along the way, from the highs to the hard slogs, so keep an eye out—and if you’d like to support me and PDSA, I’d love to have you along for the ride! 🚀🐶

Is anyone else basically one more degree away from turning feral? 🥵 I’m sweating just thinking about doing anything productive.
Honestly feel like I’ve been slow-roasted — brain’s mush, body’s given up, and even the horse looked at me like, “Nope, not today.”

Funny how heat does to your body what anxiety does to your brain — everything feels harder, slower, and mildly ridiculous. Confidence? Gone. Motivation? Also gone. Me? Sitting on my arse in the sun, supping a cold cider! 😅

Hope everyone’s staying vaguely upright out there — or at least has access to ice and cider!

Just a quick one to let you know that I’m a bit under the weather (it’s raging manflu so I’m lucky to be alive) so all of today’s sessions have been rescheduled. Thank you all so much for all of the motivational messages and good luck texts! I couldn’t have done it without the support. An even bigger thank you to Katie for meeting me at numerous spots, cheering me on and taking care of all the logistics. The heat was pretty crazy today and although it had an impact on the marathon I’m super pleased with completing another marathon in a time of 5hrs and 17mins. So chuffed considering the conditions!

Twas the eve of the marathon and all was quiet apart from the excited pounding of a slightly chubby man’s heart as the marathon drew closer!

If anybody wants to track me tomorrow you can download the TCS London Marathon app and just search my name and my details will come up. I’m due to start around 10:45am and hoping to finish by 3:45pm. But it’s looking like it’s going to be a toasty one so we’ll see how I get on in the heat.

I’d love to get some text messages through out the marathon offering some words of ‘encouragement’! Text me on 07730360204 and the texts will flash up on my watch. Inspiration and motivation will definitely be needed!

On the 27th April, I’ll be taking on 26.2 miles through the streets of London to raise money for Ability Bow – an incredible charity that supports people with disabilities, long-term illnesses, and injuries to rebuild their strength and confidence through rehabilitation and exercise.

This is the face of a slightly overweight man in his mid 40s after completing a 20 mile run! 🏃‍♂️Attractive, huh?! 😂😂 Well, it’ll all be worth it as this time in three weeks I’ll be enjoying a beer 🍺 after completing the London marathon.
