I am delighted and honoured to have been appointed as the new Chair of the Board of The Shakespeare Hospice with effect from 24th July 2017. A huge thank-you to Martin Bartlett, from whom I take over, for all his invaluable work and commitment to the Hospice. The Shakespeare Hospice provides support to those with life limiting illnesses, their families, carers and those suffering bereavement. We have a fantastic Young People's service as well as the largest Day Hospice in the West Midlands. We support over 1000 people a year and provide a Hospice at Home service (rather than hospital beds) so people can, if possible, be cared for at home, which is commonly their preference. An incredible service! And a service which is only possible thanks to our amazing staff and volunteers, and the generosity of the public on whose donations we so heavily rely. Thank-you to all of you who help make The Shakespeare Hospice the wonderful place it is!
