Cases of measles are on the rise across the world, so we encourage everyone to make sure you and your family have received two doses of the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine.

Measles is highly infectious and can lead to serious medical complications. Having two doses of the MMR vaccine is the best way to be fully protected against measles.

Dr Sam Ghebrehewet, Head of Vaccination and Immunisation at PHS, tells us more about measles in our latest news article πŸ”½

Today, 19 June 2025, marks Clean Air Day 🌫️ – the UK’s largest public engagement campaign on air pollution which is dedicated to raising awareness and highlighting simple, small actions we can all take to help create cleaner, healthier air.

In Scotland, between 1,800 and 2,700 deaths each year are attributed to long-term exposure to outdoor air pollution. It is one of the greatest environmental risks to human health and one of the main avoidable causes of death and disease globally.

In our latest article, Dr Sarah Robertson, Healthcare Scientist Advanced in the Environmental Public Health team at Public Health Scotland, tells us about the effects of outdoor air pollution and what meaningful actions we can all take to keep air cleaner and healthier for everyone to breathe.

It's πŸ’ž

Many people don't see themselves as carers because their relationship comes first. But if you support someone outside of work who cannot manage alone due to illness, disability, mental health challenges, or addiction, you could be a carer.

This person might be your:
❀️Partner
πŸ’›Parent
πŸ’šSibling
πŸ’™Friend or
πŸ’œNeighbour

Recognising yourself as a carer is important as it can mean you may be entitled to specific rights, support and info that help you in your caring role, as well as the person you care for.
