🚨 IMPORTANT: Meningitis B Update & Routine Vaccinations 🚨
With recent reports of invasive meningococcal disease (Meningitis) in the news, we want to ensure our our patients stay informed and protected.
🛡️ Frithwood Patients are Protected
We are proud to have a >90% vaccine uptake. This means the vast majority of our children and teenagers are fully protected.
📬 Check Your Post
If your child or teenager is due for any routine vaccinations, you will have received a letter from Public Health. If you have received a letter, please book your appointment as soon as possible. If you know your child is missing any other routine vaccinations now would be a good time to book an appointment for them to catch up.
💉 Information on Meningitis B (MenB)
Following the recent outbreak news, we have received many questions regarding MenB:
• The Routine Schedule: The MenB vaccine was introduced in September 2015 for infants.
• Catch-up Programmes: There is no national catch-up programme for older children. We will of course contact any affected patients if this changes.
• Private Options: If your child fell outside the age bracket, the vaccine can be sourced privately.
• Supply Warning: Please be aware that private stocks are depleting rapidly nationwide.

We are seeing a rise in measles cases in parts of England.

Vaccination is the most effective way to protect children from serious illness.

We’re encouraging parents to check their children are up to date with their vaccinations. Check your child's red book or speak to their GP practice.

ALERT - We have just been made aware that some people have received telephone calls from a person who claims to work for us and is asking for "sponsorship" money on behalf of Frithwood Surgery.
This is a scam and we have already reported the number to the police but if you receive one of these calls please be aware that we will never ask for your bank details or for "sponsorship" money.

The work to repair our building is nearly finished. Our car park has fully reopened and our dispensary is already returning to normal.
Thank you for your patience and support over the last few weeks and an especially big thank you to our amazing team who worked incredibly hard to keep everything running as smoothly as possible throughout the repair project (and during some of our busiest days of the year!)

Every year in the run up to Christmas our team donate food items and other essentials to a "food bank box" which is then delivered to a local food bank in mid-December. Today these boxes were delivered to Chalford Parish Council which runs a food bank for people living locally.

A reminder that building work to repair our dispensary will begin on Monday. Three parking spaces (next to our two disabled bays) will be blocked from tomorrow and remain out of use until the work is completed.
There will also be some changes to our dispensary service which will allow our dispensary team to avoid delays to prescriptions while the repair work takes place. You can find more information about this below.
