Calling all role models! Have you ever wished that you could have had a trusted older mentor to guide you through those tough teenage years? Now's your chance to be that role model for a local youth.

Gloucestershire Mentoring Programme need more volunteers with lived experience to support young people in our area. As a mentor, you'll be matched with a young person who could really benefit from having a positive influence in their life.

No superhero powers required - just a few hours per month to grab a bite, play sports, attend events, or just listen over a cuppa.

BAKERS NEEDED - could you bake cakes or biscuits once a month for our Monday afternoon youth club in Stroud? DM for details.

Our illuminateStroud after-school club runs every Monday during term time at the church of the Holy Spirit in Paganhill. This session is really popular especially with young people from Archway. In the spirit of hospitality, we offer free drinks and cake/biscuits to every young person who visits us and we currently have a lovely baker providing cakes once a month but we need some other lovely people to join them. Let us know if that could be you! Or if you prefer not to bake but would like to donate cakes that would work too. Drop us a message for more information or if you have any questions.

Interested in supporting a young person in need? Join us online on Wednesday 1st May at 7pm to find out how to become a volunteer mentor!

Mentors don't need any particular skills, we believe life gives you more than enough experience to become a mentor! Full training is provided and ongoing support from our fantastic GMP team. All we ask for is 1 hour a week to walk alongside a young person in need, helping them navigate life's challenges.

The GMP team will be holding this online event to share what mentoring is, and to learn about Gloucestershire Mentoring Programme. We'll be taking a look at Adverse Childhood Experiences and Trauma, which apply to many of our mentees and we'll be joined by some of our current mentors who will be sharing their experiences of mentoring.
