You these phrases time and again...
"I joined the university course because my parents said it was what I should do"
"I loved my job, but I was given the opportunity of a promotion, and now I am unhappy"
"I got married because my partner proposed"
"They said I wasn't good enough so I didn't enter the competition"
"I didn't go to the interview because my colleague was going too and everyone says they are better"
I could write these forever, and I'm sure that we've all said something like this in our lives, however if you say things like this a lot, it's a sign that you could be listening to other people too much.
What other people believe about you, is never real, because they don't know the whole of you, and what they expect of you, is always clouded by their own experiences and fears.
If you want something, reach for it. If you don't, you are basically saying "What I want isn't important, therefore I'm not important".
YOU are important
You ARE important
You are IMPORTANT.
Need me to say it again?
