Join us tomorrow at 10.30am to find energy and deep rest through chanting, the first of 13 taster sessions in our Studio Open Day.
Chanting isn't something you need to be worried about. Humans make sound, sound is vibration; we hear the sound and feel the vibrations and with that comes the potential for release and connection.
When we create this sound together as a group it can be pretty awe inspiring.
With Emma you might chant in Sanskrit (the language of yoga), but you might also chant in English or simply use a gentle hum to create sound.
There is no judgement and no expectation.
One of Emma's favourite ways to create sound with a class is using her instrument called the Shruti box to make a deep drone sound and students are then invited to make a gentle hum or the sound of aum at the same time. In this way, the voice and the person are free to observe the feelings as they arise, not worry about the words or the correct form, but simply to release into the sound.
After a period of time all sound gently stops and we are left with the silence that follows - into which we can then rest deeply.
You can book a space on bookwhen.com/stroudyogaspace or just come along tomorrow for 10.30am, without judgement and with curiosity.
