🌙✨ Ramadan Mubarak from Cera ✨🌙
As Ramadan begins, we wish all colleagues, carers and service users who are observing a blessed and peaceful month. May it bring reflection, strength and a sense of connection. Thank you for continuing to care for one another with kindness and respect throughout this special time.
🕌 The Importance of Ramadam
Ramadan is a sacred and deeply meaningful month for many of our colleagues across Cera. Our workforce is made up of people from all walks of life and backgrounds, and over the coming weeks many will be working while observing Ramadan. We recognise the dedication and balance this can involve, particularly for those caring for others whilealso caring for themselves.
Ramadan takes place in the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar and marks when the Prophet Muhammad received the Quran. During this time, Muslims focus on prayer, family and charitable acts whilst fasting during daylight hours.
Fasting is an act of devotion and discipline, and also a way of building empathy with those who experience hunger. It is a time of spiritual reflection, generosity and connection with community 🌙
🌅 Supporting Yourself Whilst Observing
For colleagues working in care, preparation can make a meaningful difference to wellbeing throughout the month. If you are observing, you may find it helpful to:
🥣 Prepare nourishing meals for suhoor and stay hydrated before the fast begins
🧺 Prepare a travel box for evening shifts if needed
😌 Take short breaks where possible and rest between shifts
Small steps can help sustain energy levels whilst maintaining both wellbeing and spiritual connection.
🤝 Creating a Supportive Environment Together
Across Cera, we can all play a part in creating a respectful and supportive environment for colleagues, carers and service users who may be observing. Small, thoughtful actions make a meaningful difference. For colleagues supporting service users who are fasting, sensitivity to routines, comfort and individual preferences helps ensure care remains person-centred and respectful.
Ramadan is a time of compassion, patience and connection. By supporting one another with understanding and respect, we help create a workplace where everyone feels valued and able to thrive.
Wishing all who are observing a peaceful and meaningful Ramadan 🌙🤍
