I am a fully qualified and accreditated Clinical Hypnotherapist. For the past 30 years I have worked within the Voluntary Sector developing and managing services for people with the diagnosis of Asperger Syndrome. I have a wealth of experience and knowledge about the complexities of supporting and providing services for vulnerable people and their Carer’s. One of the reasons that I originally trained as a Hypnotherapist was to offer support to the families experiencing such difficulties. I trained at the Prestigious Clifton Practice, a recognised Centre of Excellence for Solution focused Hypnotherapy. I hold the Hypnotherapy Practitioners Diploma, which is considered the ‘Gold Standard’ in Hypnotherapy Training. I fully appreciate how Life can at times cause us extreme Stress and Anxiety. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a Powerful and Positive Tool to help people of All Ages and All Walks of Life bring about Exciting and Positive Changes to their Lives.

How much energy does it take to sit and overthink. What does it even mean to overthink!
Do you find that once you start the process, the story that you’re telling yourself grows stronger and in fact often becomes more embellished.
Your brain then believes that the thing is terribly important so it refuses to let it go, maybe turning on that cortisol tap keeping you attached.
The thing of course might be important, however we do know that it’s what we constantly tell ourselves the brain has to react to.

So gently reframe those thoughts, what would you be doing differently if you spent a little more time reflecting on what your good at, what went well yesterday, what did you deal with well, it might take a bit of an effort but your brain knows the other way really well so train it and keep training it. I know it sounds too easy but trust in the process and of course the science, repetition is key, small steps.
Overthinking can prevent you from doing the thing you deserve to do.

We are so fortunate to have the mechanism to retrain ourselves
whatever age we are.

We can practice any activity using visualisation, preparing for an interview, practicing your chosen sport, dealing with that difficult person in your life.
Take time to visualise how you would like to see yourself doing that thing, add as much detail as possible and repeat, repeat again and again. It doesn’t have to be a time consuming thing. Remember the brain struggles to know the difference between fiction or reality.
Give it a go!
