Love it when a companion gets the good vibes too.

The energy of a session is really important and I always bring a calm, positive energy which clearly has a wider impact than just the horse being treated.

Heartbeat, Breath, Cranio-Sacral - they are all rhythms in the body.

Cranio-sacral therapy releases blockages held in the nervous system to balance the cranio-sacral rhythm and stimulate the body's own healing.

Increasing activity in the parasympathetic 'rest and digest' part of the nervous system and decreasing 'fight or flight' thereby promoting relaxation and decreasing stress.

Other benefits include:

- reducing pain/discomfort.
- increasing range of movement.
- decreasing re-injury
- boosting health and immunity.
- promoting a feeling of wellbeing.
- benefits horses who may have emotional, psychological stress or trauma.

THE 96 Olympics changed the way in how we use water to cool horses. New scientific research at the time determined that it is better to leave the water on the horse and let it air dry naturally, rather than scrape excess water from their coat.

A tail that is held to the left or right can be indicative of musculoskeletal pain/tension along the back or in the sacrum.

The tail is an extension of the spine and an indicator of relaxation (or not) of the back. A stiffly carried tail indicates a stiff, tense back while a horse that is moving with an elastic back will let the tail swing softly.

Massage can help alleviate tension throughout the back and pelvis as well as throughout the body – everything is connected!

As well as hands-on techniques I am also able to use; red light therapy, animal neuro-myofascial release (ANMR) and cranio-sacral therapy to ease discomfort and release blockages in the body to allow the muscles to relax and the tail to move more freely.
