Don’t waste energy being mad at the rain.
It’s something we can’t control.

What we can control is how we respond.
We can bring our own sunshine ☀️

Go for the walk.
Play.
Puddle-jump.
Mess up your hair.
Take the makeup off.
Listen to the birds.

Acceptance is so much softer on the body and nervous system.
Sometimes the most regulating thing we can do is stop resisting what is.

Now… go play some Bob Marley and let the sunshine in 🎶✨

I needed some time out on the floor today which gave me the perfect idea for today’s insta post. 🤍Sometimes regulation doesn’t come from doing more, it comes from letting the body be held.

When you lie on the ground, your nervous system receives clear signals of physical support and safety. Firm contact with the floor stimulates proprioceptive and pressure receptors in the body, which helps shift the nervous system out of fight/flight and into rest-and-digest (parasympathetic activation).

✨ Slower heart rate
✨ Reduced cortisol
✨ Deeper, diaphragmatic breathing
✨ Less sensory overload
✨ Improved emotional regulation

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, dysregulated, or disconnected, try lying on the floor for a few minutes and noticing where your body is supported. Sometimes the most powerful regulation tool is simply being held by the ground beneath you.

Recognising what is outside of our control is a meaningtul therapeutic step. 🤍
When we intentionally acknowledge these factors and set them aside, we create space to focus on what is within our influence - our responses, choices, values, and self-care.🤍
A person-centred approach invites us to return to ourselves with compassion and to invest our energy where it can genuinely support growth and wellbeing.🤍

“Progress over perfection” has been my quiet mantra lately 🌱

Learning that we don’t need the perfect plan, the perfect timing, or the perfect version of ourselves to begin. We just need to start -imperfectly, gently, consistently.

Some days growth looks like big wins. Other days it looks like simply showing up. Both count.

Here’s to small steps, messy progress, and trusting that consistency will take me further than waiting ever could 🤍
