CHRISTMAS NOTICE

Dear Customers,

Please read the following notice regarding ordering of prescriptions over the festive period.

REPEAT PRESCRIPTION (patient requests from GP surgery)

Please allow 7 working days between requesting your prescription and collecting at the pharmacy, to allow for us to safely assemble all prescriptions and obtain stock from wholesalers.

REPEAT DISPENSING/BATCH

Please collect your prescription as normal, we will not be preparing prescriptions any earlier UNLESS you’re going away and will not have enough to last you. In this case, please give us a weeks notice so we can prepare this for you.

UNLESS STATED BELOW, OUR OPENING HOURS WILL REMAIN UNCHANGED:

BOXING DAY: 1pm - 3pm
NEW YEARS DAY: Closed

Marnhull Pharmacy provides the NHS Pharmacy First service.

This means that patients can be assessed by our pharmacists and supply treatment for 7 conditions listed in the graphic below* . No appointment necessary.

Today our pharmacy received a large return of medication, all from one patient.
Medication waste costs the NHS an estimated £300 million every year, money that could fund nurses, treatments, and vital services.

Each unused box also means:

⚠️ Risks to patient safety from hoarding or confusion
📦 Extra strain on pharmacy teams and supply chains

‼️ If your prescription is sent to the pharmacy automatically, by a process known as ‘Repeat Dispensing’: please return to us any medicines you will not need until your next supply, before you leave. Pharmacies can reuse any unwanted medicine(s) for another patient, saving vital NHS money 💰✅. Shared from another pharmacy.

POLITE NOTICE

We have been inundated with a high volume of customers turning up to collect their prescription(s) that have been requested from their GP Thursday 17th April, or after - a majority of which have not being ready for collection.

Whilst we are happy to turn around urgent prescriptions, please note that we have been closed Good Friday and Easter Monday and requests for repeat medication are likely to take the full five WORKING days to get to the point of being ready for collection.
