Good stress is running to catch the bus or train or making that meeting just in time. Even helping to hit deadlines for projects, when taking exams, or starting something new.

When stress comes at times like those just mentioned, it can assist in speeding us up to get things done. It can also help personal growth, especially when comfort zones are challenged.
These higher levels of good stress should subside when nothing out of the ordinary is going on, that’s when you know that you have it under control.
But when high levels strike, when just living those normal daily life routines, that can be a problem and easily take over a person and their life.

If left to get out of control, bad stress can lead to fatigue, sleepless nights as well as joint pain, headaches, grinding of teeth, even stomach problems. In other forms it can create mental pressure like over-thinking, self-doubt, fear and lack of confidence. And the result being less participation in the simpler things that make everyday life enjoyable.

So, the truth is: good stress we can’t live without but bad stress we can most definitely live better without it!

A walk in the countryside or even looking at photos of nature like this one can naturally reduce stress levels.

February is the month of hearts and flowers when some declare their love openly for another.
A wonderful emotion that everyone senses differently, Love can be for some, the most beautiful thing whilst for others the uglier side may have been seen.

Everyone sees, hears and feels Love in a different way and some may describe it as a feeling of never wanting to let someone go, whilst others say it is letting another have as much freedom as they desire.

Not an object but strangely Love can be lost and although it cannot be physically measured many fall into the alluring depths of it.
Love itself never ages but it does mature and strengthen but sometimes it becomes tatty eventually just fading away.

But whatever it is and whether unconditional, unrequited, declared openly or a well-kept secret, Love has an amazing ability to continue to make the world go round!

And that is to just be willing to let go of the doing.
To just be allows our energy to flow as natural as water in a stream.
To just be allows us and life to flow easily together.

Someone once said, 'We are human beings not human doings'.

For some finding a feather means a passed loved one is nearby. Seeing a heart shape in things can also mean the same.
But the truth is messages are being sent all the time, we just need to be less distracted to see, hear or feel them.

Today most of us run at a top speed 24/7 and afterwards still sense we should be doing more, so how are we meant to notice things like feathers and hearts?
Often, they turn up in places or in things where we would least expect to find them.
So perhaps when they do, take time to stop, step back and be less pre-occupied with ‘the doing’ and more attentive with ‘the being’.

Join us at the Christopher Centre Cancer Support Group to chat, share, listen and be amongst people who care.

We are a small friendly group who invite guest speakers, provide FREE refreshments and are ready to welcome you.
Here for those whose lives have, in anyway, been affected by cancer.

Change occurs around us all the time, we only need to look at nature to know this to be true.

Being fearful of change is something many suffer from, and this can cause unhealthy procrastination in many areas of life.

Converting to something new physically can be met with many challenges but, mentally the struggle can be a lot harder. And this can be where problems arise when trying to break habits, lose weight even if wanting to feel more confident.

Hypnotherapy can be a great support to those wanting to trade negative thoughts for positive ones.
Through the process of natural deep relaxation created by hypnosis the subconscious mind can begin to accept new ways as well as reveal why it wants to reject them.

Because the past can have a lot to do with who a person is, how they perceive themselves and are living today, something like a passing comment made years ago could potentially put a stop to change happening in the mind.

Using regression hypnosis, the past in thoughts and emotion can be re-explored and with hypnotherapy understood. This can make change acceptable and with subtle adjustments new ways of thinking outside the personal mental box can be made easier.

Most change is not that scary; it is merely the next chapter of life!

The story starts 10 years ago this month. After qualifying in November 2009 I set up H.J.B Hypnotherapy in April 2010 and began seeing my first clients. The past 10 years have been quite a journey for me as a therapist not knowing at the beginning the learning and personal growth I would do through helping others. Taking this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU to all my clients past and present for without you I would not still be here ten years on. Here’s to the next decade!
