Being present draws a higher conscious awareness that it is okay to not hold on. It is okay to let go.

So, open your eyes and see.
Open your ears and listen.

Those tell-tale signs of perhaps coughs, colds or that general out-of-sorts feeling is your body saying, ‘hey time-out!’.

Have a duvet day, book a massage or some other healing therapy that will give body time to let go and completely relax, restore and rebalance’.

How we feel cannot be created by anything or anyone only ourselves.
How we respond to others and things that happen outside of our control we do through mental choice.
And so, if we choose that we are not going to be happy nothing outside will change that.

Good mental health brings clarity and through this the understanding that you are your own power!
Own the power you are mentally, emotionally and physically.

It is, in the UK, Mental Health Week
11th-17th May 2026

The best advice is to not ignore your mental health at any cost.

Get to know what senses your mind uses when it feels in good health. And become aware of what it senses when things are not so great!
This can easily be done by either meditating regularly, using mind rests or practising the art of organic thinking.

Looking after Mental Health should be something that is done and maintained EVERYDAY!
You only have one brain and mind the health and functionality of both are crucial NOW and for the FUTURE!

‘There is a saying, ‘All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’, perhaps this could describe you at this moment.

Life is for living with a little bit of work thrown into the mix, not the other way around.
Have some carefree time to let go of the heavy burden of drudgery. Let yourself indulge in something you enjoy and feel child-like in regard to responsibilities, in other words like you have none.

Just like the sun, that sometimes rises early into clear blue skies, so too can mind be clear and positive first thing in the morning. But just like the weather a mental climate can change into something else less positive as the day wears on.

Greying clouds in the natural world can over-shadow blue sky and sunshine. And if comparing this to Mindspace it shows that the thinking mood can change into something less clear, even quite gloomy.

Checking the daily weather forecast is something most do, in preparation for any change that may occur, and taking an umbrella or a coat is protection against the elements.
Could we also adapt the same thing for our mental atmosphere?

The daily practice of resting the mind is preparing ahead, mentally, to recognise the chance of anything that could cause a low-pressure mind-mood-dip.

These Mind Rests are little breaks that give the brain and mind time to clear and rebalance before and after performing different daily tasks.
To use them just sit, in natural white noise silence, with eyes closed, for at least 5-10 minutes. The key thing is to not judge, care or worry about any thoughts passing through interiorly.

Mind Rests are quite simply the smarter way to de-clutter ‘mental clouds.
Regular practice can also provide a ‘mindful umbrella’ that protects mental health against those unexpected external downpours that can happen in life and others.

Meditation can help if feeling mentally lost. It clears pathways in the mind which have become cluttered by worry, fear or just over thinking.
Sometimes after meditating a new path can be seen, one perhaps that would have otherwise been missed!

‘A spring clean is something to think about. Clear and clean the physical objects in your life. Minimise clutter and maximise space. Notice how good you will feel after this.

Then practice the same mentally through meditation. It will align and harmonise your mind and body ready for this new season of opportunity.’

How everyone views their own personal value and self-worth can be assisted through the understanding that we are all human and fallible. Knowing this should make mistakes easier to cope with mentally but for some accepting this can be hard.

Going over past situations and feeling regretful, can start emotional and physical pain and dis-ease, also prevent career progression as well as hinder personal relationships.
When becoming mentally ‘stunted’ like this it can prove impossible to think ‘outside the box’.

Shifting mental patterns can be done but, the conscious mind needs to be aware of what the subconscious is thinking about. When busy with daily life, and doing something that needs very little concentration, past thoughts can begin to surface.
Also triggers, like hearing an old familiar song, can take thoughts right back to someone, somewhere or something that happened many years ago.

Catching these thoughts and exploring them as the person we are today, gives us the chance to see and understand who we were then.
Doing this unconditionally without judgement, expectation or criticism can move us towards a clearer, sympathetic perspective and understanding as to why those choices were made back then. And the life experiences from then to now has changed us so those choices we feel we had then, perhaps today, we would not consider at all.

What we learn through life experiences, we did not know before. And if we did not know before what we have now learnt, how could we have possibly responded or reacted differently in the past?

Learn. Forgive. Move forward!
