Sleep is one of those things that the mind and body naturally need. But depending on how busy we are can be the decider in how much sleep we actually need on a night-to-night basis.

It is said that, on average, a person needs between 7-9 hours of sleep each night. The truth is each day brings something different, and it is this that determines how many hours are actually needed.

A shorter good sleep is more important than a longer disturbed one. Because it acts as a natural energy fuel boost and re-balance for the body and mind.

When we become off-balanced mentally and physically it means that equal amounts of energy have not been used between these two spaces.
So, if the mind has been used more during the day, it is possible that mental tiredness will be present at bedtime, but body could become restless and fidgety.
This also works the other way too. So, if physical exertion has been more, than mental stimulation, sleep that night could prove difficult due to an overactive mind.

Balancing both during the day helps to sleep better at night.
It is easy to remember that if physical outweighs mental activity, to bring the equilibrium back, read, do puzzles, writing or drawing, will help.
And if mentally active more than physically, by doing exercise like yoga, going for a walk or swimming can bring a better, natural quality of sleep at bedtime.

In life it can be hard to accept and forgive the behaviour of others. But even harder sometimes to accept and forgive ourself.

Being human means at times admitting to doing things wrong as well as the realisation that we are all in some way at some time fallible.

Learning the power of self-acceptance not only leads us to having a better relationship with ourself but, can also improve relationships with others. Because through embracing our own imperfections we have a better understanding and empathy towards others and theirs.

Dandelions are sometimes looked at as imperfections on a lawn. But for some people they say their natural bright yellow is a perfect complement to all that green!

Spring is the perfect time for new things to begin.
It is also a good time to look at any personal changes within us that we may want to make.
Because for new things to have any hope of blossoming and blooming if old ways of thinking and doing are still present, it may prove difficult for any good change or idea to reach success.

Clearing mentally and releasing emotionally any negativity will help and this can be done through the regular 5-10 minutes daily practice of meditation.
After all, it is from our minds creating the source of the things we sense physically in us that are the ingredients for what is formed outwardly in our lives.

FACING FEAR

Feeling it, hearing it or seeing it, fear can only exist when it has life breathed into it. A good example is when we over think anything yet to be lived.

From a thought to an emotion, to the physical sensation in the body, this all helps to reinforce fear as something real.

When very young we do not fear things but in our own personal way, react to them.
But as we mature so being fearful can be conditioned in us by others, perhaps as a form of power and control. Afterall when people become afraid, they also can become more cooperative.

Low self-esteem, lack of self-worth and self-confidence, are just a few conditions evolved from living daily in the shadows of fear.

From such a small word can come great negative power which can prevent those ruled by it from living life to the fullest.

So, is fearโ€ฆ

Fooling you?
Exhausting you?
Abusing you?
Ruling you?

The story starts 10 years ago this month. After qualifying in November 2009 I set up H.J.B Hypnotherapy in April 2010 and began seeing my first clients. The past 10 years have been quite a journey for me as a therapist not knowing at the beginning the learning and personal growth I would do through helping others. Taking this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU to all my clients past and present for without you I would not still be here ten years on. Hereโ€™s to the next decade!
