Due to the pressure of Christmas and work loads we’re delaying the supporters meeting until after the new year. We’ll have a new date soon.

We are aware about the online article in the Mail which suggests that Diageo could be a very attractive company to be taken over.

This might have massive ramifications for our community both in terms of opportunity and also of risk.

When Nick Dobrik and Phil Williams were on the NAC they had insisted on the Trust formulating a contingency plan in case of such an eventuality.

Firstly this must be dug up from the Trust’s archives.

And secondly we hope and expect that the Trust will be in touch with all the beneficiaries with a communique reassuring us about the immediate steps they are taking to mitigate the circumstances.

Lastly the ask of Diageo must include all future income stream payments are placed in an escrow account that guarantees those payments being made to the Trust.

Hi folks

Of interest to Thalidomide Trust beneficiaries

There is a webinar with trustees this Tuesday Sept 23rd at 17:30. We would urge as many beneficiaries as possible to attend and make their voices heard. If you haven't reserved your place please email engagement@thalidomidetrust.org

We will have a meeting for supporters and friends the day after so that you can discuss any concerns or issues that arise.

The meeting will be this Wednesday, September 24 at 18:00 UK time. A link will be sent to all participants ahead of the meeting.
