We will shortly be updating our page with the amazing amount of money raised for charities through Much Loved, the service that we provide on our website.

This money is raised by families who have chosen us to look after their funeral service and chosen a charity for donations in memory of their loved ones.

Today we received this certificate from Alzheimer’s Research UK showing that this one charity benefited from the kindness of families and friends x

A day in the life of a Funeral Director!
No funerals today but Paul and Tom had to use other skills and carry out a major repair on one of our fridges.
Lots of heavy lifting involved so think they will be aching tomorrow 🙂

David recently attended the Harvest Supper. Here he is carving the ham - and looking slightly dangerous! And on the table you can see the delicious fresh fruit tart he made! I understand it was consumed very quickly 🙂

On a beautiful day like today, we had a lovely rainbow themed funeral for a much loved lady. The family chose a rainbow, butterfly and bird coffin and the florist created this very special floral tribute 🌈🌈🌈

The amount of adverts for direct cremations on tv is increasing all the time and we know from speaking to many of you that the common belief is that if you require a direct cremation you HAVE to use one of these online companies.

However it’s important to note that a direct cremation is just another choice that is offered to a bereaved family. One of many different choices that your local family Funeral Director can arrange for you.

The main choices are:

Burial or cremation
Religious, civil or humanist
Church service or crematorium
Full service, simple service or no service

A Direct Cremation is simply a cremation without a service. We will look after your loved one in exactly the same way as any other service, providing the same care, with the only exception being that there will be no service and no attendance. People choose this option for a variety of reasons, but mostly because it was the wish of the deceased themselves.

For those families that feel they can’t let their loved one go to the crematorium alone, we also offer an Attended Direct Cremation. This means that up to 8 mourners can attend and sit in the chapel for 10 minutes with music playing.
