Just thought I’d pop on and show you how well one of the tomato plants on the patio is doing … we’ll soon be having some in our salads …
Also … you might remember me mentioning Charlie our Chilton Croft Squirrel … well just look at this new little one I saw out the window the other day ??? Have you ever come across a squirrel with a white tail ? Apparently they are not considered albinos but are quite rare … drop a comment below ⬇️ & tell me what you think we should call it …😊🐿️🐿️

Our Alzheimer’s Awareness campaign is being run for two weeks , 🦋🦋 please keep an eye out for details about this in the upcoming post.

Hello Readers ,

Wellll….. We hope this post finds you all well , and possibly holding a nice refreshing glass of Pimm’s or an Ice Cold Lemonade, as we think it’s safe to say that Summer has arrived , don’t you ?!!

🌞🍹🌸🌺Phew ! Perhaps it’s a little too hot …

We have had the ice lollies on tap over the past few days… whilst residents have been out in the garden having a lovely time with a few really getting involved in the potting and planting of some really gorgeous flowers that are starting to pop with colour as well as nurturing a few tomato plants , of which we’ve had first sightings of tiny green tomatoes that our chefs will be able to use in our kitchen 👩‍🍳 🍅🍅

Next week some of our residents will help us as we give our back fence a fresh lick of paint , so we can get it ready for our July BBQ 🎊🍹🌻🌻 ( that’s if it’s not too hot )

We’ll be sure to keep you posted on our progress and remember to pop in and visit us , our door is always open & we love having the garden full of family & friends sharing quality time with our residents.
Why not bring your cooler box and a packed lunch and use the shaded garden to spend an afternoon with your loved one…

Well hello there …

It’s been a while since we posted , and wow …have we been busy.
We are so looking forward to longer days with glorious afternoons spent in the garden, sharing special memories with our residents. ☀️💐🌸🌻🪴👩‍🌾⛲️

What have we been up to since we were last on here ?
Well … we have welcomed a few new residents into our Chilton Croft Family, & sadly we have lost a few special residents, of whom will always remain close to our hearts. 🕊️💫

We are currently busy with some home renovations , which are looking too gorgeous for words, and are equally eager to begin pruning our garden for the much anticipated lunchtime picnics & summer BBQ’s 🍾🎊🎉 Oh Yes Please !!! 💃🕺💃

We have been enjoying some interesting themed events such as Chinese NY 🏮Valentines Day 💝,International Woman’s Day, 💃 St Patrick’s Day , ☘️ …
along with some really wholesome birthday celebrations that we had the privilege of sharing & hosting for residents and their family members. 💌

Our diaries are open as we begin to plan summertime trips out ☕️🚌 supporting some of our local shops/ venues in the area. 🏞️🛍️ 🫖🧋

Next up though, Mothers’ Day 💗 where we get the chance to spoil and celebrate not only the Mothers , but all the woman within our home. ♾️

I promise to post pictures soon.

Lastly for those that have not yet met our lovely Prudence ( Pru) , Pru started with us towards the end of last year , and is such a ray of sunshine in our home, who is also I might add , quickly becoming a firm favourite amongst some of the residents. 😊🌸🌸
Pru works alongside myself, and covers Fridays & the weekends .
I’d like to take this opportunity to officially welcome Pru & thank her, for her dedication and commitment that she has shown to her role within Chilton Croft.

With that said , please remember our doors are always open and if you would like to pop in and have a chat over coffee / tea with us , please don’t hesitate to do so.
We love what we do & we love hearing from you .

Dearest Followers,

With the silly season in full swing , and as the year draws to a close , we often find ourselves in whimsical nostalgia.

So with that said , here’s a little recap …

Our Residents have enjoyed some great entertainers over the past few months , and we have acquired a brilliant artist who joins us fortnightly to perform songs from The Legends, which they all love. ♥️ A true Professional.

We have had regular performances from Tinkled Pink Productions , and a Local Charity Christmas Carol Performance.

‘It is through a shared love of music that one can reach another’s soul.’ 🎼🎵🎸

In turn, as our garden becomes bare and barren through winter, we were delighted to find a little squirrel the other day who was quite content to take up residency so long as we provided him with a daily meal.
Knowing how busy our brilliant Chefs are… I knew I was pushing my luck a little too far by expecting an assortment of nuts & nibbles to come out of the kitchen each lunchtime …. so it’s a weekly trip up to Pets At Home for me, to ensure our cute little Charlie gets enough to eat through the winter . 🐿️🥜
(May I just add though that Charlie has an expensive palate and is sure to leave behind what he doesn’t like ,as a stark reminder of what he expects me to change on his shopping list !! 🙈🤪) …but the Residents have loved helping me top up his food bowl and watch him scurry from one end to the next, hiding his nibbles ‘for later’ & safekeeping. 🐿️🐿️💙

This year we have shared some great times together , but we have also shared moments of sadness . 🦋🕊️

We have welcomed some new staff as well as had some internal progression’s of which we wish everyone the best of luck with🍀🧑‍🎓

And so … ‘What will next year bring, you might wonder’? …

Well, we have some great things lined up and I’ll be sure to share these on here when the time comes, but until then , I guess all that’s left to say is ….

We are honoured to provide the care and support to each and every one of our wonderful Residents. ♥️

Where to begin as we entered this final quarter of the year …

Our Macmillan Coffee Date went so well and we were thrilled to have made just short of £200.00 in the space of 1.5 hours ! Thank you to all who came along , the staff who so generously donated and our residents’ special family members , whom have really become part of our home . 🏡☕️💚

Autumn leaves began to turn and fall in the garden, so magnificent to see, but also a stark reminder that we will be snuggling up inside for the next few months. 🍁🍂🔥🥰

We have also been hosting a few fabulous entertainer’s who have kept us all singing the blues ,and jiggling our bottoms , and we look forward to having them back at Chilton again soon. 💃🕺🎼🎶🎸

Tomorrow is the last day of October also known as Halloween , so we will be celebrating with a ‘terrifying themed tea trolley’ 👻🧹🌭🎃🍻
The Chef for the week, alongside the kitchen staff have really outdone themselves, and i’m so excited to see it all come together tomorrow. 👻👻
If you are around and are feeling peckish do pop in, we’d love to see you . 👻🎃

Next up as we wrap up the year will be our Christmas Party which is tentatively scheduled for Dec the 22nd . All Friends & Families of Residents most welcome !! Please keep an eye out for more info soon .

Hi Again 😊

So it’s the Paralympic Games
Opening ceremony tonight. 👩‍🦽‍➡️

I hold so much admiration for these contestants, and believe we can all learn a lot from this event , where contestants push themselves to newer heights despite their own shortcomings .

It’s here that we recognise that life isn’t always easy, but a positive attitude fueled with determination can make a huge difference to how we handle the cards we have been dealt with in what seems to be a crazy world sometimes 💙

It’s with this mindset, as we begin to wrap up August and summer draws to a close , we at Chilton have been encouraging our residents to spend lazy afternoons relaxing on the patio with us , enjoying the warmth and sunshine, reminiscing upon fond moments & sharing a chuckle together.

There really is profound peace in nature🌿🍁🌷🌻

We’ve had Live music again from the fabulously talented Sinfonia musicians , and our residents were singing and dancing along , with everyone having a fantastic afternoon together.🎸🎼🎶

Tomorrow our talented chefs will be preparing a BBQ /picnic lunch in the garden for residents and staff as we celebrate our ‘Carers United’ day. 🍔🥗🌭
Let’s hope the weather will be as kind as it has been 🤞

* A special word of thanks to the staff and residents who helped with the planting & potting on the patio , it’s looking lovely and has been appreciated by many. 🌸🌞

Well Hi …. Ice Cream with everything please !!!🍦🍦

Hasn’t it’s been hot lately ?!! 🌞🌞

A few days we have felt absolutely exhausted from the sheer heat, but residents have still kept busy assisting us to water the
flowers , do some table height plant potting, and share some ideas on how they would like to see it look / redesign our back garden . 🌸🌸 ( More to follow on that)

Yesterday we enjoyed a special themed snack trolley where residents and staff got to taste some delicious traditional treats from Romania. 🇷🇴 So much of Yum !! Gosh I love my job 😉

Oh and last week our RM helped us rescue a bird to safety that had made its way down the chimney.
Off it flew without any thanks at all, honestly some chicks hey …😅🦜

All in all summer is in full swing , but I do think we will all feel a little better when it starts to cool down a bit.
