Lab-Grown Food Heads to Space: A Big Leap for Future Astronauts 🚀🌱

Earlier in the year a UK-led project launched a bioreactor into orbit to test if we can grow real food in space using only cells. 💡

Supported by ESA and Imperial College London, the goal is to reduce the huge cost of feeding astronauts (up to £20,000 per person per day) and create tastier, more varied meals for long missions.

If it works, the technology could pave the way for 3D-printed meals in space stations and lunar bases, and even shape the future of sustainable food production here on Earth.

As lab equipment suppliers to pioneering researchers and innovators, we’re excited to see where this technology goes.😀
