Standing together changes everything.

Yesterday I had the privilege of speaking at Together for Change, a powerful event by .org.uk addressing violence against women and girls.

As a psychologist specialising in trauma, I’m driven not just by the work itself, but by the women who rise, rebuild, and refuse to be defined by someone else’s harm. And I’m driven by the anger, the justified anger, at the systems, attitudes, and silences that allow abuse to continue.

Violence against women is not a “private issue.”
It’s a community issue. And communities heal when they stand up, speak out, and refuse to look away.

Unity isn’t just a theme, it’s a lifeline.

“No one heals alone.”

Let’s keep creating spaces where survivors are believed, supported, and empowered, and where change is not just talked about, but lived.

The UK’s new emergency alert system will send a loud siren, message, and vibration to every compatible phone even on silent. Survivors of abuse with hidden phones could be put at risk if the device is discovered.

You can opt out in your phone’s settings to protect your safety:
