If resolutions aren't your thing, then we have some words of advice for 2026 instead 👀✨

Residents at Ashlea Mews Care Home have shared their best bits of wisdom for us to think about as we settle into the new year, and some of their words are simply priceless! Some ladies and gents took a very wholesome approach, with ideas such as "Treat other people the way you would like to be treated" and "You can do anything you put your mind to"... 🥰

Meanwhile, others suggest you should simply "Retire"!

What have you got on your New Year's resolutions list... A new hobby, by any chance? ⛸️🤩

Well, these lovely residents over at Green Lodge Care Home would really recommend you try ice-skating if you haven't already! The group recently went on a very special trip to Billingham Forum Ice Arena where they were waltzed around the rink with help from the care team as well as pupils from the local school.

For one resident, Pippa, this was a bit of nostalgia as she used to love ice-skating. This was a Christmas dream come true for Pippa, Stan, Pasquale and Jen 😊

We're excited to announce that the winner of the Great Orchard Christmas Bake-Off 2025 is... Eaton Court Nursing Home 🧁👏

This year's baking challenge was for the teams to create 12 identical Christmas cupcakes and 12 identical Christmas cookies with the help of the amazing residents. With many of the homes submitting photos of the most delicious baked goods, it made for a difficult decision... but the Eaton Court team stole first place in the end!

Not only did their chocolate Rudolph cupcakes have creative pretzel antlers, but their simple yet excellently crafted bauble cookies even had peanut butter cup caps on them 😯

Well done to all teams for getting involved in the bake-off, we hope you had the best time making and eating your creations together. Finally, a huge congratulations to the whole Eaton court team - amazing efforts!

'Tis the season of laughter, joy and... wrapping presents 🙃🎁

Luckily for the town of Penwortham, the team at Penwortham Grange and Lodge Care Home took away that stress while asking for only a small donation in return. The best part about it all is that proceeds were for Cancer Research UK - our chosen annual charity to raise money for over the next 12 months!

Activity Coordinators Jayne and Lucy are always looking at ways to give back to the local community and get involved with them as much as possible, whether that's through Christmas dinners at the church or visits with the local schools 💗

Residents at Thornton Hall and Lodge Care Home were surprised with a visit from the big man himself, who stopped by to spread some Christmas cheer and get everyone excited for the upcoming festivities. As you can tell, the residents absolutely loved it - just look at their smiles 🥹

The team at Green Park are always planning their next fun-filled activity day, but December so far really has been jam-packed with fun and festive spirit! From furry friends to delicious treats and live entertainment days, Christmas cheer is truly in the air 💫

Activity Coordinators Lisa and Sharon have made everyday truly magical, but two of their highlights this month include their visit from Santa and their wonderful entertainment visit from Pantastic Duo, Steel Pan and Cajon!

Well done to the Green Park team for making the festive season so special, you're all definitely on Santa's 'Nice List' 🎅

How are you spreading Christmas cheer this year? 🎅

At Three Bridges Nursing Home, residents received a visit from the big man himself, who found out their Christmas wishes and took his list back to the North Pole for the elves to work on 🗒️ ❄️

Residents, families and colleagues alike absolutely loved the visit from Santa Claus, and couldn't help but get a few selfies with him! It's such a heart-warming experience to see everyone indulge in familiar festive traditions, and we love seeing how happy it makes our residents ❤️

Wow - where do we begin? If you've ever visited a loved one at Ashlea Lodge, you'll have more than likely met the wonderful Cathy and seen her genuine passion for elderly care ❤️

Known for her kindness, humour, and dancing feet, Cathy brings joy to residents, families, and our colleagues every day. We are truly honoured to have Cathy on our team and even more so as she will be celebrating her 70th birthday with us next year!

Happy 15-year workiversary, Cathy - we couldn't imagine the home without you 🥹🥰
