Our homes have been cooking up a storm across the China Sea 🐉

This week, our Cruise Around the World competition took us to China, and the food and activities did not disappoint! From tasty beef in black bean sauce and crispy spring rolls to mandarin lessons and cultural quizzes, everyone had a bao-tiful time 🍜

With only 2 more weeks to go, the competition is steaming up and we're so excited to see what's in store next week over in the New World!

🇨🇳 🎎🏮Welcome to China! 🇨🇳 🎎🏮

Our residents had an incredible time discovering Chinese-inspired delicacies on the 3rd stop of the Orchard Cruise! From delicious spring rolls to banana fritters, each meal was lovingly made by our kitchen team and presented beautifully alongside our Chinese tea set 😍🥰

Two more stops left...next week, we're off to South America! 🎉

🎉 👏 ✨ WE RAISED £5,000 FOR ALZHEIMER'S SOCIETY! 🎉 👏 ✨

We are absolutely over the moon to announce that we hit our £5,000 fundraising target for Dementia Action Week! Our wonderful care homes and support centre team hosted bake sales, sponsored walks, 24-hour-a-thons, parties, rowing challenges (you name it, they did it 😂), all in aid of Alzheimer's Society. As a provider of dementia-specialist care, this charity is very close to our hearts and we're honoured to be able to support their work.

To everyone who took part in events, shared our posts or donated - thank you! It's thanks to you that Alzheimer's Society can continue helping people living with dementia, and we couldn't be prouder of our team for everything they've done.

A special thank you to the wonderful Gordon from Ashlea Mews Care Home, who kindly helped us with our announcement! 💕

It's week 2 of the Orchard Cruise, and where else could we possibly go this week other than America?! 🗽 🌭 🎆

🎶✨ A Rockin' Afternoon at Ashlea Lodge! ✨🎶

What a fantastic time our people had today with a special musical visit! 🎤 They were treated to a brilliant singer performing all the Elvis classics, and our residents loved every minute of it! 💃🕺

There was plenty of singing along, dancing, and smiling all around. It was lovely to see everyone enjoying themselves and sharing happy memories through the music. 🎵❤️

A huge thank you to our wonderful entertainer for bringing so much joy to Ashlea Lodge. You certainly had us all “All Shook Up!” 😉

Albert’s story: How specialist dementia care changed more than just one life 💜

Green Park Nursing Home recently welcomed Albert to their newest Reconnect community, Sandringham, after a fall left him hospitalised and unable to return home. Six months on, Albert's wife, Collette, has been reflecting on her journey from being a full-time carer to finding additional support for her husband, and how one particular colleague, Nicola, became a vital part of her support network 🥹

✨ Sensory Fun at Ashlea Lodge! ✨

Our people had a wonderful time today getting creative with kinetic sand! 🏖️💛

There were smiles, laughter, and lots of reminiscing as everyone got hands-on with the soft, moldable sand perfect for relaxing and sparking creativity. It’s amazing how something so simple can bring so much joy and sensory stimulation.

We love seeing our people trying new activities and enjoying every moment together. ❤️

Over the next 5 weeks, our care homes are battling it out to be crowned the Cruise Champion - and for our very first week, we're heading to the Caribbean! From making salt fish patties to creating immersive experiences for our residents, the teams have had so much fun in the Caribbean! 🌴 🌊 🌞

Will the current reigning champions, Paddock Stile Manor Dementia Care Home, keep the crown? Or will it be taken by another one of our homes?

On Friday, Penwortham Grange and Lodge Care Home celebrated the 100th birthday of their lovely resident, June! Friends, family and fellow residents enjoyed an afternoon of dancing, eating birthday cake and reminiscing over June's incredible 100 years 🥹

Thank you to Councillor Paul Wharton-Hardman BEM and Paul Foster, MP for South Ribble & Chorley Rural West, for coming along to celebrate with us!

We'd also like to give a huge thank you to the activities team at Penwortham Grange and Lodge for organising such a fantastic birthday party and continuously going above and beyond for our residents - you did an amazing job ❤️
