They are hosting a series of community dialogue events across Sunderland, providing an opportunity for residents to share their experiences and views.

🌟 Exciting Collaborations Ahead! 🌟

I had a fantastic meeting with Dr Sonia Ahmed today, discussing how we can join forces to support IMPACT Northeast CIC as we transition to a charity model. 🤝

Dr. Ahmed's insights and expertise will be invaluable as we work in partnership to deliver impactful training programs. I truly appreciate the time she took to meet with me — what a wonderful person!

I'm looking forward to seeing our partnership flourish and to facilitating mutual referrals. Together, we can make a real difference! 💡✨

🎉 Thrilled to share some incredible news!

Yesterday marked the official launch of the Hendon Health Hub, and we couldn’t be more proud to be part of this initiative. 🌟 Together with our incredible VCSE partners, we're setting out to revolutionise community health in the East of Sunderland by bringing essential preventative services together right to the heart of our neighborhoods under one roof.

The mission? To remove barriers and enhance:

💜 Access to Physical Health
💜 Mental Health & Wellbeing
💜 Financial Health

It's inspiring to see how collaboration can spark real change, we’re excited to see how far the pilot can rise. A heartfelt thank you to everyone in the team Back on the Map for their dedication and passion which has made this possible! Let's continue empowering our community, one health initiative at a time. 🙌❤️

⚠️ UPDATE - 3:55PM 15 Jan ⚠️
Our coastal engineers have visited the landslip onto the beach at Seaham this afternoon.

It’s estimated in excess of 10,000 tonnes of mostly limestone has slipped onto the beach, around 1km north of Seaham, near the county’s border with Sunderland.

The erosion of the limestone cliffs in this area, and the habitat that it creates, is part of the reason for its Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) status.

Thankfully, land slippage of this scale is quite rare. But, we would ask that you keep yourself safe by keeping away from the cliff edges and avoiding the loose material.

Where did we start

This is a question I think about all the time. I have reflected many times and I always wonder if my negative childhood experiences had not occurred would I be who I am and would I do what I do. I have now realised that I have a nature and a heart that is happiest when I am supporting people.

I was made redundant from my job in Newcastle, and I joined many groups in Sunderland were I lived. I shortly realised that I wasn’t happy and I was only happy when supporting people, my passion was people, but the need was so big.

Social and Health inequalities were really prevalent with the families and children I was volunteering with, and then the idea was born. However, my babies were little and I wondered how would I do this with no money in my pocket.

Most people start social businesses based on personal experiences, but were would I start? I had my my first black eye at the age of 2, I suffered extreme bullying, parental domestic violence, personal abuse including s*xual and psychological abuse, eating disorders, su***de attempts, being homeless at times, self -harming, depression, postnatal-depression, learning disabilities (list not complete), .
