I have worked so hard on my mindset these last couple of years and its really paying off. I truly believe the greatest thing you can work on is your mind✨

So here are a few things i do to help myself and hopefully you can find a but of inspiration to help yourself too🫶🏼

MORNING AFFIRMATIONS
This is an every day thing. As soon as my brain ticks on, i say around 5 positive affirmations to myself (just in my head). These will depend on how im feeling or how i want the day to go - almost visualising a great day ahead

SAYING THANK YOU
After reading The Magic, i literally say thank you to everything/one that serves me throughout the day. This may not be out loud all of the time but in my head i will feel the gratitude even for the slightest of things

I am intentional with who i spend my time with, where i am and what I’m doing

BLOCKING MEDIA PAGES
Right, i started this years ago after the media uproar with the whole Caroline Flack scenario. They feed us with non truths and our brains dont need to take nonsense in.

PEP TALKS
If im feeling out of sorts, worried, stressed, i talk myself down. “I am alive, its ok, its not harming me, i can control my actions”

NO CAFFEINATED DRINKS AND LIMIT ALCOHOL
These 2 have been two of the biggest changes and had the most impact. Caffeine sends me up the wall then a crash and alcohol, although i enjoy it at the time, the days after are just hell. My mindset goes to 0, i feel anxious, lazy, i binge, and just feel 💩 about myself. So now i mainly only drink when im out which at the minute is not often at all.

I manifest and visualise what i want DAILY. This is such an easy thing that you can do wherever you are!!

THE LET THEM THEORY
Good old Mel Robbins, if you dont know - get to know

PRIORITISE SLEEP
I know i need around 8 hours sleep for me to function how i like so my bedtime is 9:30 and i wake at 6 with the kids. Otherwise i am a GRUMP. The staying up late is not worth the early mornings anymore

As well as these i *try* to speak positively and find goodness in negatives to turn the narrative

I cater for whatever makes my brain function at its best✨

I hope you find this useful and sorry if its not your cuppa tea😂

This Maternal Mental Health Week (4th – 10th May) we’re creating calm, supportive events for m**s to rest, connect and feel heard.

Join us for relaxed sessions including gentle wellbeing activities, time to talk (if you want to), a warm cuppa, and access to local support and advice – all in a welcoming, understanding environment.

✨ Sessions are taking place at Family Hubs across Sunderland this May.
📅 Limited places available – booking required via Links for Life Sunderland. www.linksforlifesunderland.co.uk/familyhubs

This session is a chance for m**s to relax, chat and gain support child free, if you are unable to attend due to childcare issues we recommend only children under two years of age may attend, as the session is not suitable for older children due to the sensitive nature of discussions that may take place.
