It is with the greatest regret to announce the sad passing of our much loved Dad, George Blackman on 18th May.
After a long battle which he fought to the very end with great dignity.
He will be very sadly missed by daughter Deb (Shug) Sons Darren (Dash) and Jeff (I man) Grandchildren and Great grandchildren, friends and extended family members.

Please meet at Sunderland Crematorium 16:00 pm 4th June. Then afterwards for a pint of John Smiths at Hastings Hill. All welcome.

Thank you to everyone who donated to the Connor Brown Trust Fundraiser over the last few months. Your donations will make a huge difference to the work of the charity!

We will be keeping the donations page open until the end of next month as the successful completion of yesterday's Yorkshire 3 peaks was the first part of the overall challenge! The second part - scaling England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike, will be taking place next month.

2 DOWN....1 TO GO!

Our intrepid band of fundraisers are now well on their way to completing their Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge fundraiser to raise money for the Connor Brown Trust.

They've reached Whernside Peak and are now en-route to their third and final peak.

Passed away on 13th May in Sunderland Royal Hospital. Aged 86 Years,

Bertha, loving wife of the late John William Joicey. Beloved mother to John, Kevin, Peter, Nicola and the late Denise.

Bertha was also a loving mother in law, nana, little nana, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends.

Funeral service to take place at Sunderland Crematorium on Tuesday 2nd June at 3.00pm. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu of flowers to a charity of the families choosing. A collection plate will be available at the crematorium. Family and friends are invited back to Pennywell Comrades after the service to continue the celebration of Bertha's life.

Passed away peacefully on 30th April surrounded by her loving family at Sunderland Royal Hospital, aged 76. Beloved wife to David, loving mother to Francesca & Dominic, and adoring grandmother to Heidi and Max.

Funeral service to be held on Wednesday 3rd June at The Holy Rosary Catholic Church (SR3 3LD) at 12pm then committal at Sunderland Crematorium at 1.30pm, followed by a wake at The Hastings Hill (SR4 9LP) at approximately 1.45pm.

In place of flowers, the family would be truly grateful for donations to the British Heart Foundation — a charity that was very close to Anna Maria's heart. Any contribution, however small, will help continue the life-saving work that meant so much to her.

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Susan, who died peacefully at Ashbourne Lodge Care Home after a short stay on 6/5/2026 at the age of 70.

Susan; much loved Mam to Rachel and nana to Ralph and Sophia. A beloved friend to Carol, and a dear aunt and sister.

Susan will be greatly missed by all those closest to her and lovingly remembered by all who knew her and cared for her.

Friends and family please meet at Sunderland Crematorium on Monday 1st June at 2:00pm.
