Passed peacefully in St Benedict’s Hospice on 20th July aged 81 years. Beloved Husband of Valerie, much loved Dad to Karen,Adam,Simon an and loving Father in Law to Ian,Fay and Yvonne. Cherished Grandad to Tom, Alex,Eve,Lily,Harry,Willow and James also a loved Brother, Brother in Law, Uncle, Cousin and friend to many.
Funeral service to take place in Sunderland crematorium on Monday 4th August at 10am.
The family would like to welcome you all back to The Prior after the service to raise a glass to John.
A donations collection will be provided on the day for both Cancer Research and The British Heart Foundation.

Passed peacefully in hospital on 19th July aged 79 years. Dear friend of Alfie, much loved Mam of Neil and Dean, loving Mother-in-Law of Karen and Louise. Beloved Nanna of Alice, Jack, Nathan, Emily, and Holly. Much loved Aunty to Alan, and friend of many.
Service to be held in Sunderland crematorium on Monday 18th August at 1.30pm.

Passed peacefully in Sunderland Royal Hospital on 6th July, surrounded by her loving family, Dorothy (Dot).
Loving partner of Stephen, loving mam to Ian, Nicola, Carl, Angela and Anthony. Dot was also a dear Mother-in-Law, Nana and Great Nana who will be sadly missed by all her loving family.

Passed peacefully on1st July in The Holy Cross Care Home aged 97 years, Margaret. Loving Wife of the late Thomas, beloved Mam of Colin and Kevin. Devoted Nana to Nathan, Chris, Natalie and Lyndsey, also a Great Nana to Zachary, Ryley, Rome and Ava.
Margaret will also be dearly missed by Sylvia and Jean.

Beloved Wife of the late William Sloan. Much loved Mam to William, Anne, Peter, Ronnie, Steven and Mother in Law to Anne, Stephen, Pam, Sandra and Carol. A loving Nanna, Great Nanna and Great Great Nanna.
Funeral service to take place in Sunderland crematorium chapel on Wednesday 16th July at 10am followed by Interment in Sunderland cemetery, Grangetown at 11am.

Passed suddenly in hospital on 23rd June aged 59 years. Much loved sister of Jim and Tom and Sister in Law to Jayne and Marie. Loving Auntie to Matthew, Luke and Adam. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

Sadly passed away in the Grange Care Home, New Herrington on 14th June aged 94 years, Joan. Beloved wife of the late Bob, much loved mother of Graeme and Brian and cherished mother in law of Maureen and Trish. Treasured grandmother of Emma, Andrew and Laura, and loving great grandmother of Charlie, Jack, Tyler, Rose, Elliott and Riley.

A celebration of her life will take place at Sunderland Crematorium on Tuesday 15th July at 12.30, followed by a gathering of family and friends at The Wavendon, Chester Rd to share memories and honour the wonderful life she lived. Family flowers only, donations in lieu of flowers will be given to the Grange Care Home as a thank you for Joan’s care. A collection plate will be available at the crematorium after the service.

Passed peacefully in Sunderland Royal on 12th June 2025 aged 75 years. Beloved wife of the late Robert (Bobby), a devoted mother to Melanie and Dawn, mother-in-law to Martin and Kevin, a cherished grandmother to her six much loved grandchildren, Sam, Tom, Aidan, Joe, Matthew and Harry, and a proud great-grandmother to her precious great-grandson Coben. Much loved sister of Richard, Norman, David and the late Margaret, and a dear auntie, friend and confidant to many.

She was the heart and soul of our family. Having recently said goodbye to her beloved husband, she is now reunited with him, forever hand in hand.

A celebration of her life will take place on Tuesday 8th July at 11:30am in Sunderland Crematorium, followed by a gathering of family and friends to share memories and honour the beautiful life she lived.

All who knew her are welcome to attend. Family flowers only, donations in lieu for Marie Curie, a collection plate will be provided on the day.
