The Connor Brown Trust helps RAISE AWARENESS, HELPING LOW INCOME FAMILIES, DEVELOP POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS, OPPORTUNITIES TO PARTICIPATE & EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS.
This is to provide guidance amongst young people, often from disadvantaged communities, helping to give access to an innovative youth work programme, that will help raise their aspirations and give them an understanding of how criminal activity can affect themselves and the wider community around them.
This is such a worthy cause so if you can, please help by sponsoring Jo’s 50th Birthday Yorkshire 3 Peaks Hike to raise money for The Connor Brown Trust.

Passed peacefully after a short illness in hospital on 27th March aged 86 years, Lil.
A much loved Sister to the late Harry, Ron, Will, Norman, Tony and Margaret. Sister in Law, a loving Aunty of many Nieces and Nephews and a dear friend of many in the New Penshaw WI, and St Benet’s and Gardiner Road Bowls Clubs.
Funeral service to be held in Sunderland crematorium on Friday 17th April at 1.30pm. Donations in lieu of flowers for the RNLI, a collection will be provided on the day.

We’d like to remind all our followers about an important upcoming charity fundraiser close to our hearts ❤️

Our proprietor, David Gardener, along with his wife Jo and their friends, will be taking on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge this May in support of the Connor Brown Trust — a truly important cause.

So far, an amazing £180 has already been raised 👏 Thank you to everyone who has contributed!

With permission from the family, we would love to share with you all an incredible coffin with a bespoke design we recently had made for a true Star Wars fan.
A very personal tribute, blending something as iconic as Star Wars into his funeral was a true pleasure to have created for his loved ones.
This was more than just decorative, it was a meaningful celebration of what he loved, allowing his favourite character Chewbacca to accompany him on his final journey.
May the force always be with you Anth…..

We are proud to continue our yearly support for Down Syndrome North East, a charity that does incredible work supporting individuals and families across our community.

Today, on World Autism Awareness Day, we pause to recognise, support, and celebrate the incredible individuals and families within the autism community.

At Peter Dodd Funeral Directors, this day holds a deeply personal meaning. Our Proprietor, David Gardener and his wife Jo, are especially close to this cause, as their daughter Mia is autistic. Through Mia, we are reminded every day of the importance of understanding, patience, and embracing the unique strengths that make every individual who they are.

Autism is not something to be “fixed” — it is something to be understood, respected, and supported. Today is about raising awareness, promoting acceptance, and encouraging kindness in our communities.

We stand with all those living with autism, their families, and carers — today and every day.

Passed peacefully at home after a long illness surrounded by her loving family on 21st March aged 68 years, Ann. Beloved Wife of Dave, cherished Mam of Billy and Anthony, loving Nanna to Renay and Great Nanna to Vinnie. A dearly missed lovely Sis to Ian and the late Fred, also a loved Auntie to Kelly and loving, caring best friend of Lisa.
Funeral service to be held in Sunderland crematorium on Tuesday 14th April at 2pm.
Family flowers only please donations in lieu for St Benedict’s Hospice, a collection will be provided on the day.

Can we say a massive thank you and well done to everyone who donated to our Easter Egg campaign. People donated over 240 Easter Eggs which we have just delivered to Hope4All CIC, meaning loads of local, young children will have a smile on their faces this Easter! Special thanks to Asda Pennywell, One Stop and Go Local on the Broadway, BP garage Grindon, Grangetown florists and all family and friends who helped with this worthy campaign. Great effort everyone!
