"🌱 Stop Food Waste Day β€” make weaning count 🌱
When babies start solids, it’s a chance to build healthy habits and keep food waste low. Good weaning supports growth, curiosity, and all the joys of eating β€” and a few smart choices help food go further too.

πŸ‘‰ Read NHS weaning guidance here:
https://www.nhs.uk/best-start-in-life/baby/weaning/what-to-feed-your-baby/from-around-6-months/

🍠 Start small, offer variety
Babies explore flavours by taste and texture β€” offering a little of different foods can spark interest without excess.

🍎 Repurpose leftovers thoughtfully
Cooked veg, soft fruit, or grains can become tasty bites or quick toddler snacks β€” reducing waste and building healthy eating patterns.

πŸ₯• Freeze baby-friendly portions
Purees or small portions can be frozen and used later, helping your routine and your budget.

πŸ‘Ά Follow your baby’s cues
Responsive weaning means tuning into appetite and interest β€” a core part of Best Start for Life.

Little shifts at mealtimes add up β€” nourishing your child, your family, and the planet. πŸ’š

Mams’ Minds Matter - Maternal Mental Health Week events at our Family Hubs.

Join us for a relaxed, supportive session for m**s during Maternal Mental Health Week.

These sessions offer a safe and welcoming space for m**s to connect with others, take time for themselves and access support. Activities include a gentle wellbeing walk, a cuppa and refreshments, optional wellbeing activities, information and advice from local services, opportunities to support one another, and the chance to hear real life experiences from others.

This session is a chance for m**s to relax, chat and gain support child free, if you are unable to attend due to childcare issues we recommend only children under one year of age may attend, as the session is not suitable for older children due to the sensitive nature of discussions that may take place.
