The Government has announced that Sunday 9th March 2025 will be a National Covid-19 Day of Reflection.

On Saturday 8th March 2025 in Sunderland, local members of Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice invite anyone in the North East who lost a loved one during the pandemic to join them from 12noon at Sunderland Minster, especially if their loved one was lost to Covid-19.

There will be a variety of memorialization activities, as well as space for anyone to reflect on their experiences of the pandemic, whether they lost a loved one or not.

The event will conclude with a ceremony led by Sunderland Interfaith Forum, at 3pm.

Links for Life Sunderland supports people in the City to access a range of services and activities in the community to help improve their physical and mental health and wellbeing.

Links for Life supports people to find groups or organisations that will improve their quality of life in everything from money management to groups that provide isolated people with company, and many other non-medical ways of improving wellbeing.

A digital hub provides advice and information on a range of health and wellbeing topics as well as a directory of community activity.

The next The Prince's Trust Team Programme will start on Tuesday 7th May 2024 at their Houghall Campus in Durham.

The Team Programme is a 12-week programme focused on personal developmentaimed at 16-25 year olds helping them think about their futures. The programme enables young people to gain new skills and a qualification, developing confidence, self-esteem, communication skills, managing feelings and independence.

As part of the programme young people will:

Learn the importance of teamwork
Spend a week in a residential activity centre
Undertake a project based in the local community
Complete a work placement
Participate in a team challenge involving caring for others
Complete a team presentation delivered to a large audience
Gain a recognised qualification

Participants will get free travel with an Arriva bus pass, access to the college gym and may also be entitled to a bursary.

Together for Children Sunderland and North East and North Cumbria NHS have partnered with BFB Labs to offer free access to Lumi Nova. Lumi Nova: Tales of Courage is a digital therapeutic intervention that helps with the symptoms of worries or anxiety for children aged 7-12 years, helping them learn skills to self-manage their worries in an engaging intergalactic adventure game (app).

This 14-week Strength and Balance course is aimed at over 55s who want to increase their strength, improve their balance and reduce their risk of falling.

Band Together is a brand-new Information, Advice, and Guidance Service that offers free support to neurodivergent and/or disabled musicians.

Led by Lauren, our Support and Development Mentor, who is also neurodivergent, Band Together will be at Pop Recs this Wednesday from 10 am to 12 pm. Lauren will be ready to offer free advice and friendly chats with anyone who may be facing barriers to music.

Whether they're dreaming of higher education, breaking into the industry, or figuring out the ins and outs of music distribution and tech, Lauren can help.
