Morning - i'm your hip joint, I carry your weight everywhere

But getting out of a car
Rolling out of bed
Walking to the kitchen

Let's not mention the stairs

Things that shouldn't hurt or feel discomforting, they do

But they do because of me. My hip ioint

That deep ache that may be felt down your leg

The limp you have because your shifting all your weight to the other side

Avoiding stairs because you know what it feels like

That's me (your hip) telling you, you need to act now

You probably are, already trying pain relief every damn day - switching the pain off for a few hours but it shows right back up

Maybe that relief lasts a few weeks but it will wear off, it will be back

It's still there niggling, feeling discomforting, dimmering your every day smile but your getting on with it.

We went to the physiotherapist today. What we were guided to do today, was actually what I guided in my yoga class just yesterday.

But today I was the student..the observer 👀

The focus was AWARENESS

An appointment that my teenage daughter had been waiting for. Through the right channels of assessment.

Issue: back pain
Symptoms shared / physical assessment
Trigger: no main trigger identified /general
Diagnosis: Hyper-mobile
Outcome: Awareness to body - 4 week assessment begins...

She might be a teenager yet a sign that awareness is the invitation being offered here.

1..Awareness before correction
2..Small resets through the day
3..Tech posture

Listening, the advice was very much of what we bring awareness to during yoga. Don't just show up and get on with it. Your here to learn too. Take yoga off mat into everyday life.

Example shared.

1. How are you standing or sitting
2. Are your shoulders creeping forward when your standing forward
3. Can you feel both your feet to be grounded.

Are you standing tall yet slightly relaxed.

STACK those shoulders-hips-ankles. 1 straight line.

Is Your body at a 90 degree angle when sitting. Ankles-knees-hips-shoulders.

You get the jist ✅️

➡️Pushing away from the floor, when standing creating space and lengthening the spine. ➡️Sitting tall, inviting space rather than slouching.

✅️Aids comfort, less discomfort.

🫤Yes you might feel it a drag to do excersizes given by the physio but they are advised for a reason.

The choice is yours.🧐

Showing up for yoga is a choice of your own.

📩The main message here is. Look after yourself. Seek the correct professional support to check no underlining issues and choose a practice / excersize that supports you and something that you become to enjoy.

Consistency changed everything for him👇

I have been coming for over a year, newly diagnosed with arthritus.

I was very stiff and struggling with medication .

I decided to try yoga. I had qualified as a reflexologist and so I had faith in alternative medicine and therapies.

I was very stiff and struggled for a while but the first few sessions were great. My body felt like it was crying out for the stretches and I always felt better and looked forward to each weeks session.

About 3 months ago to the amazement of the hospital, my arthritus went into remission and I was able to discontinue the methetrexate. I attribute this recovery chiefly to yoga and doing some daily exercises.

I am a lot better. I still get pain in the left knee but it's improving.

This week my daughter joined us at the lessons. She has been amazed at what yoga has done for me and thinks it will help her to.

Adele does a marvellous job and must get a lot of satisfaction from seeing how her classes are making a positive difference to people's lives.

You haven't actually increased your skeletal height, you've improved your posture by correcting it. Stopped slouching and moving away from a decompressed spine.
