Our Story
I am a fully qualified Sport and Remedial massage therapist based in Surrey offering sports massage, skincare consultancy, facials and make-up lessons.
“Remedial” massage therapy, simply means using manual therapy techniques to try to “remedy” a problem. But to offer a remedy you must do more than just relieve pain; you must also be able to understand how the problem came about and how it can be avoided in the future. To achieve this, I use a range of massage and advanced soft tissue techniques set within a framework of assessment and rehabilitation procedures. As well as dealing effectively with a variety of musculoskeletal problems this can also be used to help in recovery and reduce the symptoms in many medical conditions too.
I include Sports massage as a specialist area within Remedial massage therapy which applies all the same techniques and principles in a way that best meet the specific needs of the athlete, such as Soft tissue release, myofascial release, muscle energy technique and trigger point therapy. We do not recognise “Sports massage” as a single subject without the remedial skills because although this could be enough to take away an athlete’s pain at the time this does not offer them a remedy.
You do not have to be an athlete, however, I am also trained to help you relax, relieve your muscles and help you forget about your busy life for an hour.
I offer Sport & Remedial Massage therapy in my studio in Berrylands, Surbiton.
I studied Clinical Sports and Remedial Massage Therapy at London School of Sports Massage, which is currently the highest level of qualification available in the field of Sports Massage.
I am a member of the Institute of Sports and Remedial Massage, which requires me to undertake in depth Continual Professional Development so I am constantly learning new skill. I am qualified in Pitch Side First Aid and as a dedicated sports person, understand how important it is to an athlete to recover from injury quickly.
