ND Sports Massage

ND Sports Massage Sports Massage Therapy, Baby Massage and Pregnancy Massage in Surrey Myofascial Cupping is a modified version of the ancient Eastern style Cupping.

“Remedial” massage therapy, simply means using manual therapy techniques to try to “remedy” a problem. But to offer a remedy you must do more than just relieve pain; you must also be able to understand how the problem came about and how it can be avoided in the future. To achieve this, we use a range of massage and advanced soft tissue techniques set within a framework of assessment and rehabilita

tion procedures. As well as dealing effectively with a variety of musculoskeletal problems this can also be used to help in recovery and reduce the symptoms in many medical conditions too. I include Sports massage as a specialist area within Remedial massage therapy which applies all the same techniques and principles in a way that best meets the specific needs of the athlete, such as Soft tissue release, myofascial release, muscle energy technique, and trigger point therapy. We do not recognise “Sports massage” as a single subject without the remedial skills because although this could be enough to take away an athlete’s pain at the time this does not offer them a remedy. It differs by specifically targeting the musculoskeletal system rather than the meridian systems used by traditional Chinese practitioners. It can help to reduce tight knots and adhesions, increase blood flow and tissue repair and increase the range of movement of joints. You do not have to be an athlete, we are also trained to help you relax, relieve your muscles and help you forget about your busy life for an hour. Baby massage is the gentle, rhythmic stroking of your baby's body using your hands. It supports bonding and relaxes baby which can promote sleep, calmness, and regulated behavior. I run 5 week courses that teach you how you can help relieve teething pain, nasal congestion, constipation and colic. Pregnancy Massage creates a combination of relaxation and stimulating messages to the receptors that prompt a women's body to effectively function during pregnancy. Massage can also improve energy levels and blood flow, alleviate stress, relieve tension, stabilise hormonal levels and offers a natural, safe, drug free relief from pain. Lymphatic drainage applied to the lower limbs can also alleviate fluid build-up. I offer the above services in my home treatment room in Berrylands, Surbiton

🤰🏻Maternity Leave🤰🏻

Time to get this baby earth side! I'm 40 weeks pregnant today. So, having worked until my "Due Date," after today, I will be taking some time off massage whilst I prepare for and welcome our 2nd baby into the world.

Pics show Rupert bump at 40 weeks on left and current baby bump at 40 weeks on right 🤰🏻

I don’t plan on taking a huge amount of time off work, but it's impossible to know how I will feel, so I'll be in touch with all my massage clients as soon as I am back up and running.

I have about 6 weeks left of bookings before I take some time off to welcome Baby Daly 2.0. Obviously the baby will arrive when it's ready but I'm hoping to work until around 20th June, so if you have any course appointments or vouchers outstanding, please try to ensure you have used these up in the next 6 weeks if possible.

I offer Sport & Remedial Massage therapy in my studio in Berrylands, Surbiton. I studied Clinical Sports and Remedial Massage Therapy at London School of Sports Massage, which is currently the highest level of qualification available in the field of Sports Massage. I am a member of the Institute of Sports and Remedial Massage, which requires me to undertake in depth Continual Professional Development so I am constantly learning new skill. I am qualified in Pitch Side First Aid and as a dedicated sports person, understand how important it is to an athlete to recover from injury quickly.
