Top Ten Tips
(for a good nights sleep)

Ensure you have a set time you go to bed and wake up. It’s not just children that benefit from a bedtime routine! ⏰

Make sure your bedroom temperature is optimal, if in doubt cooler is preferable to too warm. 🌡️🥵🥶

Avoid caffeine, alcohol and food before bed. Alcohol may knock you out but it can also wake you up in the middle of the night! ☕️🍷🍪

A quiet and dark room is preferable for most people, if you are a person who needs some light and sound to sleep try to ensure it’s a soft light and noise. 🤫

A churning mind at bedtime can be distracted by an appropriate audiobook. Nothing too exciting or stimulating. Consider using sleep headphones if your bed companion needs silence. 🎧📖

Aromatherapy can be useful to soothe a stressed mind, lavender, eucalyptus, chamomile, vanilla, ylang ylang, and sandalwood all have soothing and relaxing properties🌼🌸

Avoid devices for at least 30 minutes before sleep.🤳🚫💻

Consider your pre bedtime hour, is it relaxing and calming? Try to avoid over stimulation in this hour, consider a warm bath or shower, reading a book, bedtime yoga.🧘

If you wake for the bathroom in the night, avoid turning on lights if possible or get a soft night light if necessary🌚

Sleep meditations can prove beneficial, there are many free apps and YouTube programmes available😴📿🧎‍♀️
