It might not get said very often, but IVF doesn’t mean you give up the right to want a calm, connected birth.

It doesn’t mean your story has to be all monitors and extra scans and ticking boxes.

And it definitely doesn’t mean you’re too far down a medical path for things like breathing techniques, hypnobirthing, or yoga.

There’s a quiet story many people carry after assisted conception: that you should just be grateful.

That because science helped you get here, you don’t get to want anything more from birth than a healthy baby.

But you do.

You’re allowed to want choice.
You’re allowed to feel steady and informed.
You’re allowed to do this your way.

You’re allowed to do it their way too, but you get to be the one to decide that. With clarity, understanding and a sense of autonomy.

And if you’re not sure what your way looks like yet,
that’s okay too.

I’m here to help you work that out, if you’d like me to.

Whether it’s 3am and your mind’s racing with birth plans and hospital bags, or it’s 10.30am, you’re running on fumes and one more (well intentioned?) comment from your mother in law about how she did it and her babies turned out fine (did they…?!) might just be the one that makes you snap…

You need an intervention and you need it quick.

That’s where this breathing technique is absolute gold:

Breathe in through your nose for a count of four.

Breathe out through your mouth for a count of at least six.

It’s as simple as that. It can bring you back down to a calmer place quicker than you might believe.

And the best part? It works anywhere and no one has to know you’re doing it.

This is one of the techniques we practice in my classes. It’s not the complex things that have the most impact. It’s almost always the simplest.

If you’d like to know more about my pregnancy and postnatal classes, you can either head to the link in bio or send me a dm and let me know which class you’d like to know more about.

Knackered? Touched out? Haven’t drunk a hot drink since Easter Sunday?

Then let me introduce you to something very special...

Starting on Wednesday 25th July, the New Mum’s Nap Club. And because I’m so excited to launch this, the first week is completely free!

This isn’t another postnatal fitness class.

It’s a mums only (baby free) class that’s designed to give you an hour in your week to focus on no one but yourself.

There will be chat (and drinks you can enjoy while they’re still hot!), there’ll be breathing, some really gentle stretching, and then a guided relaxation that will last at least twenty minutes, and is designed to give you some genuine and much needed deep rest.

We all know how hard motherhood can be, and how unseen so much of the work you do can be, so give yourself the gift of this hour for you, and remember what it feels like to feel vaguely human again!

To secure your place, head to the link in the comments and use code NAP100 for your discount.

See you on the mat.

It’s weird isn’t it, looking in the mirror and thinking, “is that really me?”
Post-birth can feel like your body’s been taken apart and reassembled, just not quite in the right order.
And the world’s in such a hurry to tell you to bounce back and carry on as normal.
When really what you need is to pause.
To go slowly and kindly.
To focus more on getting to know this new version of yourself and less on if that’s what your bum’s always looked like in your jeans.
Your body’s done something incredible. Literally created a miracle.
It might feel unfamiliar, but that doesn’t mean anything’s gone wrong. It just means you need a bit of time. A bit of kindness.
Not a five-step ab rehab plan. Not a diet.
Just space to recalibrate.
And honestly, it would be ridiculous to expect you to feel nothing but love and gratitude for your body - not when the world wants to point out your shortcomings and sell you all the fixes. But you do get to stop beating yourself up for the changes that still feel so new and strange.
You might not be exactly who you used to be, but the new version of you? I bet she’s worth getting to know.

I posted and ghosted — I’m so sorry! 😅
Life life’d (as it does), but I’m back to tell you properly about something really special I’ve been quietly brewing…

✨ The New Mums Nap Club ✨
A weekly restorative (read: baby-free, no-pressure lying down) yoga class, designed for postnatal mums who are craving proper, soul-soothing rest.

No need to have done yoga before. No need to be “feeling yourself” again. No need to show up in anything fancier than leggings and a messy bun.

Here’s what you need to know:
💤 Free taster session
🗓 Wednesday 23rd July at 6pm
🌿 In-person, for postnatal mums who need a lie down and a bit of quiet

We’ll chat, we’ll do the gentlest of gentle movement, and then you’ll lie down for the best bit — a long guided relaxation to help your nervous system (and your soul) exhale.

You can book your free spot from tomorrow — link’s in my bio.

Can’t wait to welcome you in, messy hair, fuzzy brain and all.

Are you a new mum, craving just a little bit of time for yourself?

Yes, you adore your babies, but that’s doesn’t mean you can’t also say it’s hard taking care of them every single day.

It can feel like a hamster wheel, and time for you alone is something you hardly even get to think about right now.

But I’ve got you covered. This is my unofficial launch of The New Mums Nap Club. A gentle and healing restorative postnatal yoga class. Not yoga poses and pelvic floor exercises, yoga breathing and Savasana (lying down and listening to a guided relaxation). Plus a hot drink you can drink before it’s lukewarm and connection with other mums who get it.

I’m launching this brand new class on July 25th, spaces are limited and the first class is completely free, all I ask in return is that if you love it, you leave me a testimonial to use in future.

Want in? Comment ‘Nap time’ and I’ll make sure you’re first to know when booking opens, and add you to the list for exclusive offers for this gorgeous new class.

It’s always so lovely to welcome so many familiar faces to mum and baby yoga, who found me during their pregnancies for pregnancy yoga. And I get to hear how their births went.

One mum recently told me she used one of the visualisations from pregnancy yoga during her c-section… and her husband thought she was falling asleep.

This kind of feedback reminds me why the practice is so much more than a way to stay active during pregnancy.

It’s about creating space in your nervous system.
So when birth feels messy, medical or uncertain, you’ve got tools that truly work to keep you grounded and calm.

Your body already knows how to give birth.
It’s your mind that sometimes needs convincing.

We practise that on the mat every Wednesday, no judgement, no subject off limits and no yoga experience required.

Come exactly as you are.
There’s a spot waiting for you.

Sound familiar?!

Pregnancy brain is definitely a thing. That fuzzy, forgetful feeling that sometimes makes you wonder if you’ve lost your marbles.

Stupidest thing I did in pregnancy? Got really excited that I’d finally found the perfect baby name. Sat with it for about three days. Then realised it’s my niece’s name. Not even joking. I blame the fact that it was spelled differently and my niece is known by her shortened name, but still!

If you’ve had a baby brain moment that made you pause and laugh (or sigh), I’d love to hear it. Drop your funniest or most “Wait, what was I doing?” moment in the comments — let’s share the confusion and the kindness.

Because honestly, if your brain isn’t a bit scrambled, are you even pregnant?!

Not every kind of birth prep involves textbooks and to do lists.

Sometimes, it looks like moving gently, breathing deeply, and giving yourself half an hour to just be in your body.

No fixing. No forcing.
Just space to feel… like you again.
In this new, shifting version of yourself.

Pregnancy yoga isn’t about touching your toes or getting anything “right.”
It’s about softening into the changes.
Making room - in your body, your mind, your nervous system - for what’s to come.
And finding moments of calm now, not just when labour starts.

If your head’s full and your body’s tight and everything feels a lot, this is your gentle reminder:
You’re allowed to slow down.
You’re allowed to feel held, before you have to hold anyone else.
You’re allowed to make it about you, not just the baby.

And that’s exactly what we do, every week, in pregnancy yoga.

It’s a space for you to feel held, supported and seen. It’s more than just poses, it’s community that puts you at its heart.

If you’d like to join us, the link to book is in my bio. And if you have questions, that’s what my DMs are for.

Just stop for a minute.
Can I remind you how much work you’re doing growing your baby?
Just let that soak in for a second.
Before you add another thing to your to do list.
Before you say yes to something you know will drain your energy.
You’ve done more before you brush your teeth than most people will do all week.

So this is your permission if you need it to have one day that’s just for you. For rest. For a bit of peace. And if this isn’t your first baby, maybe add ‘trip to the playground with grandparents’ to the list!

For more reminders like this, hit follow. Happy Sunday mama.

There are just two spaces left for the June block of Mum and Baby Yoga.

These classes are designed to offer gentle support during the early months of new motherhood. With gentle postnatal exercise for mum, calming baby yoga for your little one and that oh so important but often overlooked time for you to share your experiences with other mums going through the same things. (And there’s nursery rhymes too!)

Classes are suitable from six weeks postnatal if you had a straightforward birth, or ten weeks postnatal if you had a caesarean or instrumental birth or if you experienced significant tearing, up until babies are actively crawling.

If you’d like to join me in June and July the booking link is in my bio. If you have questions, my dms are ways open.
