An osteopath does not treat the digestive disorders directly, however the whole body of the patient is examined to determine the problem areas. Problems in musculoskeletal system such as restricted spinal joints, tight abdominal muscles, interruption in nerve or blood supply and organ restrictions can lead to digestive health problems.
🦴
🦴
Osteopaths try to normalise the imbalance of bones, joints and nerves via different methods including, massage, stretching, joint articulation, strengthening muscles and ligaments and resolving any nerve irritation. All these efforts are so that body can auto regulate the usual way.

Pain in the elbow is often due to two main conditions – tennis elbow and golfers elbow.⠀
Tennis elbow causes pain and tenderness around the outside of the elbow joint, whereas golfer’s elbow causes pain around the inner side of the joint.⠀
🦴⠀
🦴⠀
Tennis elbow is more common than golfers elbow and both are injuries from repetitive overuse or wear and tear from any hobby, sport or activity not just tennis or golf as the name implies. ⠀
Pre-existing problems with your neck, wrist or shoulder, that might not be painful in themselves, can make it more likely for you to suffer with tennis or golfers elbow.⠀
🦴⠀
🦴⠀
We can use a variety of different massage and manipulation techniques to try to ease your symptoms and get to the cause of the problem. We may gently manipulate the elbow, wrist, neck and upper back joints.⠀
There has been further research to suggest that acupuncture is beneficial to treating the symptoms of elbow pain.⠀
We may offer you advice on which activities and movements to avoid, advice on specific exercise and advice an appropriate elbow brace support or sports strapping.⠀

Osteopaths we spend a vast amount of time dealing with pain and symptoms caused by arthritis. 😣⠀
There is no cure for arthritis, however osteopathic treatment can reduce pain, ease swelling and improve joint range of movement, bettering mobility.⠀
🦴⠀
🦴⠀
Osteopathic treatment involves gentle manual osteopathic techniques on joints, muscles and ligaments. This may involve gentle stretching, mobility, and traction techniques. Exercises to do at home may also be prescribed to improve joint function and to reduce muscle spasm.⠀

There are several reasons for headaches. Most are not serious however one cause can be tension or strain in the muscles and joints of the neck and upper back.💆🏼‍♀️
🦴
🦴
Treatment from an osteopath may help. Gentle massage to the tight muscles and manipulation to loosen the joints of the neck, thorax and back can relieve the build-up of muscular tension that may lead to headaches.
🦴
🦴
Osteopaths can also advise on exercise 🏃🏼‍♂️and lifestyle changes and offer guidance on simple changes to your posture when at work or driving which may help.

As an Osteopath, We focus on the joints, muscles, and spine. Osteopathic intervention can help treat arthritis, back pain, headaches, tennis elbow, digestive issues, and postural problems. Treatment can also assist with sleep cycles and the nervous, circulatory, and lymphatic systems.
🦴
🦴
Over the next 7 days, I will be posting a different reason of how osteopathy can work for you, including treatment of headaches, sports injuries, letting go of medication, pregnancy and more.
🦴
You may find yourself with one of the problems that I list so if you have any queries, then please get in touch.

The ‘dreaded’ cracking... 🦴
This evokes spinal stretch reflexes resulting in a brief muscle contraction, this relaxes the muscles surrounding the joint which in turn, allows increased range of movement. There is also a neurophysiological effect which stimulates a positive nerve supply to dampen down the pain in the area.
We use this technique along with others to help relieve pain, call/email to see if we can help you! 🦴💆🏼‍♀️

We use many techniques to treat lower back pain, these include stretching of the tissues around the joints, gentle movements of the lower spine, soft tissue manipulation and joint manipulation, also known as the dreaded ‘cracking’ 😅🦴⠀

Did you know western medical acupuncture involves stimulating sensory nerves under the skin and in the muscles. This results in the body producing natural substances, such as pain-relieving endorphins. ⠀⠀⠀
We use acupuncture to target the deep rotators of the spine to help decrease lower back pain.⠀
🦴⠀⠀⠀
If this is something that could benefit you, get in touch today 📞🦴💆🏼‍♀️

As Osteopaths we do not just check the spine 🦴, we also check the pelvis as this can be related to lower back pain, it can also contribute to a leg length difference which in time could lead to other aches and pains.
Please do not hesitate to contact us today to see if Osteopathy can help you! 🦴💆🏼‍♀️
