Read our July newsletter to find out what The Gap have been doing this year so far. This summer we are running Y6 Mixer groups, SEND Sessions and Gap in the Park as well as regular drop-in sessions for all young people 12-18 year olds in the summer holidays.

The Venue is our drop-in centre for 12-18 year olds and is a safe space for young people after school and college. Venue is open 15:30-17:30 Monday, Wednesday and Fridays in Trinity Hill, Sutton Coldfield. New volunteers have joined in recent months which always encourages us.

Did you know there is a safe space after school or college for 12-18 year olds in the centre of Sutton Coldfield? We offer a safe space 15:30 - 17:30 Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. There is air hockey, basketball hoop, card games, darts board, pool table, sofas, a recording studio, table tennis, Xbox, and a free hot chocolate.

We need another Youth Worker to keep running our regular sessions and summer projects for SEN and Y6 young people. To apply please contact us via the website or our bio for a job description and application form.

We are open this week!
On Monday, we will be walking in Sutton again - stop us and say hi if you want to chat! We'll be reminding everyone where they can find us, and continuing our surveys all about social media and how young people connect online!
On Wednesday and Friday, we'll be at the venue as usual, with free drinks, xbox, basketball, pool, a recording studio and so much more!

At the Gap, we aim to invest in the next generation and help them to thrive!

This summer, we are launching a new project, stepping into year 6 to support young people through the transition into secondary school. This term we have visited several year 6 classrooms to provide a workshop on managing change and worry and as we head toward the summer break, we are inviting all year 6 pupils to our 'Y6 Mixer Sessions'.

In these sessions, we will be at the Venue (top car park of Sutton Baptist Church on Trinity Hill) for sessions only for those heading into secondary school in September. During the session, we'll have basketball, air hockey, xbox, recording studio space, creative activities and plenty of games available. We will also have a short guided time with group games, discussions or skills based activities to help get to know each other better. Students going to any secondary school are welcome and our wonderful team of volunteers will be there to help you meet new people, make friends and help you feel ready for your new starts!

No Out There today due to the heat! Stay safe, cool and hydrated today! It's a scorcher!
The rest of the week though we'll be open as usual - with basketball, air hockey, a nice cool room, reocrding studio open and cold drinks available. So we'll see you on Wednesday or Friday at the Venue, Trinity Hill!

Join us this week!
On Monday, we are going to be on the streets of Sutton again, chatting to the young people and finding out the needs of our community!
On Wednesday and Friday, The Venue - our drop-in space - will be open from 3:30 -5:30! A safe place for anyone aged 12-18, with basketball, air hockey, card games, a studio and of course a free drink! Pop up to the top of Trinity Hill and check out all we've got!

WELL DONE JAMES!
James completed this year Royal Sutton Coldfield Fun Run in less than 2 hours raising well over £200 plus gift aid! This is a huge achievement met with great gratitude from all of us at The Gap! You are and always be part of the Gap family and a true legend!
