“Menopause Awareness Day is a great time to highlight how exercise can help ease many of the symptoms and changes women go through.

How moving more helps:

Exercise helps reduce hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings and sleep disturbances. Regular movement supports hormonal balance.

Strength training & weight-bearing exercise helps maintain bone density, reducing risk of osteoporosis.

Aerobic activity (walking, swimming, biking etc.) can also aid energy, improve circulation, and help with changes in metabolism.

Mood, brain fog & stress tend to improve with consistent exercise, thanks to endorphins, serotonin and dopamine gains.

Some ideas to try:
✅ Incorporate strength training (even light weights or bodyweight) 2-3 times a week plus Bodystreet once-a-week.

What science tells us:

Physical activity stimulates release of dopamine, serotonin, endorphins - which can reduce stress, help with depression and improve mood.

Regular exercise is linked with better mental resilience: people who are active tend to have lower rates of anxiety and depression.

Tips to get started:
✅ Even 20-30 mins of brisk walking, cycling, or dancing can help.
✅ Mix in strength training (weights or resistance) to support motivation and brain health.

🌱 World Vegetarian Day (1st October)
“Happy World Vegetarian Day! If you’re thinking about adding more vegetables into your meals or cutting back on meat, even just by one meal a week, you could be making a big difference - for your gut and the planet.

Why it matters:

A recent UK study found that vegans and vegetarians have significantly lower environmental impacts than “high meat” diets - less greenhouse gas emissions, less land use and less water usage.

Livestock and fisheries account for around one-third of food system emissions globally, and animal-based foods tend to have much higher carbon footprints than most plant foods. On the gut health side, more vegetables means more fibre, more diverse plant compounds and better support for good gut bacteria, which can help digestion, inflammation, mood and more.

What you can do:
✅Try one extra “veg only” meal per week.
✅Replace red meat with legumes, beans, plant-based proteins.
✅Fill half your plate with veggies at most meals.
