π It is my birthday today. I did not think I would be on crutches, in daily pain after an ACL injury and pending surgical intervention soon on my birthday or at all this year!
Sometimes, life throws curve - balls you were not expecting, or out of your control. However, there are ways that which can help us in difficult times.
π₯ We can learn to react differently.
π₯ We can understand our body, mind, spirit, thoughts
π₯ We can reframe our thoughts
π₯ We can challenge negative perspectives or appraisals about ourselves, even in pain.
π₯ We can observe good things in the world.
π₯ We can see things from different perspectives.
π₯ We can learn new skills.
π₯ We can use distraction techniques
π₯ We can problem solve in a different way.
π β€οΈ πΆ π· I love music. I may be not able to dance downstairs, but I can dance inside and music puts a smile on my face.
π There are things I can do in my 'circle of control', despite my pain, my fears and worries.
