“A big shout-out to our Natasha Deputy at Huthwaite, and the staff team, pictured here with the fantastic Notts Oral Health Team. The team have completed the training and Natasha will now go on to achieve the certificate and award for Huthwaite, following in West Hill’s footsteps from earlier this year.
Well done, Huthwaite! We’re incredibly proud of you 🦷🪥😁❤️”

Yesterday, we saw the start of our Random Acts of Kindness initiative ⭐
This is one of our key focuses for the year ahead, bringing a little kindness to others and giving something positive back to our community.

Our team worked together to create small kindness tags designed to brighten someone’s day. Our guys will be taking these out with them and placing them around the area when they’re out and about. If you happen to find one, please let us know on our page, and feel free to share this post so the kindness can spread even further.

As the registered manager I couldn’t be prouder of our team. Their compassion, teamwork, and genuine desire to make a difference truly reflects the values we stand for. Moments like this remind me why what we do matters 💜

Reo has enjoyed being out and about on a couple of day trips over the past few months. Despite the colder winter weather, Reo was warmly wrapped up and supported by staff members Sam and Ben. These outings highlighted the importance of spending time in the community, experiencing new sights, and engaging in walking as a form of gentle exercise. Being outdoors offers significant benefits for people with autism and learning disabilities, including supporting physical health, emotional wellbeing, sensory regulation, and opportunities for meaningful engagement with the wider environment. looks like everyone had fun 👏👏😊

Lucy had a wonderful time enjoying a Warner holiday just before Christmas, taking some well-earned rest and relaxation alongside one of our staff members. It was a fantastic break filled with fun, laughter, and festive cheer.

From evenings at the disco, to make-up lessons, and even a day out on the ferry to Portsmouth, Lucy made the most of every opportunity. A real highlight was meeting other like-minded adults, socialising, and sharing experiences during what is such a special time of year.

Holidays like this are so important for people with autism and learning disabilities. They support confidence, independence, and social skills, and give people the chance to connect with others in a meaningful and enjoyable way. Being able to socialise, join in, and feel part of a group can have a hugely positive impact on wellbeing.

It is also important to recognise Lucy’s capacity to choose her own holiday. Having the opportunity to make decisions about how and where to spend time away supports independence, self-esteem, and personal choice.

A lovely trip, great memories made, and a brilliant way to enjoy the best season of the year 🎄🧑‍🎄🎅🏼

We had a great little coaching session today, led by one of our staff Mr Joseph, focused on getting involved, having fun, and practising simple catch and coordination skills. both Cody and Sam were encouraged to join in at their own pace, with lots of positive support along the way.

Sessions like this really matter for people with autism and learning disabilities. They help build confidence, support physical wellbeing, and encourage communication and social interaction in a relaxed, enjoyable way. Working on skills like catching and throwing can also improve coordination and focus, but just as importantly, it gives people a chance to feel included and proud of what they can do.

There were plenty of smiles, encouragement, and moments of achievement, all in a safe and supportive space. A big thank you to our staff member Mr Joseph for running the session and making it such a positive experience for everyone involved. 🏉🏉👏👏😊👍
