We are having a summer fair on Saturdays 18th July at kingfisher court, and we are looking for stall holders who want to put up a stall at our home, anything from wax candles, cards, soaps, keyrings, jewellery, pre loved items, etc
We are also on the look out for any donations for out raffles & tombola

Today some of our team at Kingfisher attended a Frailty Simulation Training which was an absolutely amazing experience.

Frailty simulation training is an educational technique that uses wearable suits, props, or immersive scenarios to replicate the physical and sensory limitations of aging, such as reduced mobility, vision impairment, and hearing loss. It allows healthcare professionals, caregivers, and trainees to experience these limitations firsthand, fostering empathy and improving patient-centered care.

Our team have taken away some really good 👍 information from the session with a great understanding of how some of our residents feel on a day to day basis.

We are extremely proud to announce the opening of our amazing Sensory Room 💥 🎉 🥳 .

After months of hard work and determination along with endless amounts of support from our Resident’s families we can now share this wonderful room which could not have been achieved without their help. For that we are eternally grateful ☺️.

Our sensory room is a therapeutic space designed to stimulate or calm the senses aiding individuals with dementia, or sensory processing disorders.

These environments use equipment like bubble tubes, fiber optic lighting, and weighted blankets to support emotional regulation, skill development, and relaxation.

Our key components for the room comprise of:

Visual stimulation
Auditory & movement
Relaxation & safety
Enhances sensory perception
Supporting emotional regulation
Dementia care
Reducing anxiety and improving communication

… and lots of it. If anyone or any company would be willing to happily donate some top soil for our ongoing garden project of 2026 then please contact Sorrell or Emma.

Ideally we are wanting approximately 3 tonne of top soil. Obviously it would even better if it comes with some strong and willing helpers 😂. Any donation or help would be massively appreciated as always.
